I'm with Scotty on this one. I don't wash my engine (anymore), I use a leaf blower and that's it. Not gonna take a chance on shorting something from water. I pretend the label says Dry Clean Only, lol.

Just use the "spot free rinse" option at your local self use car wash every 6 months. I have done this with every car I have driven going back to 1974..........never had an issue.

Using high power wash on an engine is asking for problems.

Anybody washed their hybrid engine? Is their do’s and don’ts?
I spray wash mine all the time. Sometimes at a car wash or sometimes at home with a garden hose. Very light pressure. (I do cover the fuse area) Spay with a cleaner. Agitate with an appropriate soft engine brush. Spray rinse. Finish with a no wipe engine finish.

^Note the manual is written generically for various models and engine types.

No real concerns for the hybrid. Don't unplug the orange cables and treat it like any other vehicle.

God bless you, but there’s a lot of high voltage areas in this compartment

Washing it is easy.

It's manhandling it onto the line to dry that takes really effort!

Yes it is mine. I took that pic solely because of another thread where people were worried about "high voltage" and warranty blah blah blah. It's not sealed. It's not delicate. Nothing is going to shock you. It's a vehicle made to be out in the elements. If anything the hybrid has less to worry about since there is no battery or alternator under there.

Again, don't unplug the orange cables and you'll be fine.

I have a little trick I used for my Show Tow Truck.

This was the truck I'm mentioning:
Ford Maverick Washing the hybrid engine? Screenshot_20260104_053316_Gallery

Before a show, I'd spray the cold engine down with armor all tire shine. Let it drip off, then use a rag to wipe off any droplets. Looked better than new, and got that first place trophy.

WARNING ⚠
It is flammable, so do not spray on a hot engine. No issue running it after it dries.

Not my truck , but in 2 years I have washed twice, then spray a tire shine on it for all the plastic parts to pop, next time I do it I will take pics and put on MTC

Mine will go to a detail shop we all use.
On the way to the ford dealer to trade it for a new one.
Until then a leaf blower cleans my engine bay up just fine.
