I have a new warning light on the last few days that I had not seen before. See attached picture. Its below the seat belt picture. Its a verticle line with a car at an angle to it. Its usually white. Changes to green. Sometimes changes to yellow or red. When it goes red the steering is affected. I went through every page of the manual and cannot find any mention of it. I have a '24 XLT hybrid. Anyone seen this before?
Thanks,
Jim

That is a very accurate description of how the lane-keeping feature works.

White I believe means You're not going fast enough for it to activate I think it's got to be 40 or 45 mph, or it can't read the lines. Green means you're good, yellow means you're drifting a little, red means what the hell idiot stay in your lane. I think it's in Page 237 of the manual. Or near there

Thank you! Saved me a trip to the dealer. It must have come as part of the copilot option on the truck. I must have turned it on accidentily. I dont want this feature. I think there are issues with it. Yesterday I was staying in my lane and the icon turned red and tried to make steering corrections. I dont want a copilot! It would be helpful if Ford showed this icon in the lane keeping section of the manual.

It also means that you hit the button on the end of the turn signal stalk, it's a toggle for on\off.
Plus in the menus, you can change settings including what it does and the sensitivity

It is part of copilot. The system like any AI system has issues. If there are stray marks on the pavement the system can get confused. Example:

I found that turning the intensity to the lowest setting helpful, or just turning it off as others have mentioned.

Yes, Lane Keep Assist requires you to be going 40mph.

This doesn't make sense to me as I can use Lane Centering well below that speed.

Thanks!

I rented a Toyota that drove me nuts trying to push me back into the lane when I was changing lanes, but then I got the Mav and found the Mav to be almost unnoticeable.

However, the light on the dash in question is about auto-hold and not the stay in your lane feature.

It was driving you nuts because, you were changing lanes without signaling your lane change. 🤨
Using your turn signal momentarily disengages Lane assist.
It works that way on Fords and Toyotas too.
I started out not liking the feature. Now I leave it on all the time. It reinforces habit by reminding me to use my signal. Regardless of traffic is around or not.
I have it set to the highest intensity.

You're looking at the wrong light. From the original post:
Its below the seat belt picture. Its a verticle line with a car at an angle to it.

With the intensity turned down low and to just notify and not correct - I find Fords lane keep assist very passive and well done.

Whereas Hondas is take it or leave it in your face assistance.

if it’s turning red consistently you are definitely over the line and might want to keep it on.

The above bold, underlined sentence, from your post, tells me you were changing lanes without signaling your lane change. 🤨
Yes, because often there is no other vehicles close enough to benefit from a turn signal. 🙄

It's a warning that some dastardly monster has installed and activated the lane monitoring and or lane keep assist features. Unfortunate. My condolences.
