Is there anything I need to do before parking my hybrid truck at the airport for a week?

I've read about battery drain and deep sleep so I'm wondering if there's any precautions I need to take?

The "deep sleep" is the automatic vacation mode. It goes to sleep exactly to save the battery charge.

You want this to happen.
People just don't like it happening daily which happens I guess a lot.
Mine never does.

Don't worry. Have a good trip.
1 week is nothin' to worry about.

Get into the 2-3 months of storage and it gets a little bit more difficult.

Perhaps do a topping off charge.

14 days is needed of non-start to do DSM for the time aspect. So that won't be a reason for you.
It figures you are gone for this long, it has no idea how much longer, better shut off the modem since truck ain't moving. Minimal micro-drain savings - unless terrible ATT signal, but at least something extra is turned off.

Voltage or SOC% too low it'll disable for same reason - that could happen quick or never - depends on where you start.
Hence the top off.

Or get your last Fordpass app update - and then do the DSM manually - pull fuse 11.

I recently had mine parked for 10 days while on vacation. All I did was put it in park and left the key on my desk. 10 days later it started up without any issues. Both batteries had acceptable charges. Drove to work and an hour later, I was ready for another vacation.

I'll be first: Sounds like you need a new job.
Because he has a two-hour round-trip commute or because he needed another vacation straight away? 😋

You can use the Ford app to run your vehicle for 5, 10, or 15 minutes on a schedule if you're worried about keeping the battery topped off.

I would make sure you know how to use the backup key to get in the truck in case the battery is dead.

If you are worried about it, unhook the battery and lock the doors manually and then reverse the process when you get back.

That being said, I wish you a good vacation and hope you have fun with whatever you decide to do.

When my 24XLT Hybrid was only 2 months old, I put it in a shipping container and it took 2 months before getting unloaded. I didn’t do anything. Yes, the batteries were fresh but it started right up with no issues. Lucky me?

Oh, wait. I just spent 6 weeks in Europe this summer. Still started right up. Maybe I should grab the meters and see if I can find anything like if it went to safe mode, but I just start the Mav and drive.

Gee this hits home for me. I have a two hour per day commute, I'm on vacation through the 28th and my Maverick went into that battery saver mode as soon as the temperature went below freezing. I have an appt Friday to have the 12v battery tested and hopefully replaced. I have a solar charger that I will connect to the battery when the truck sits. I'll see if that works. If not, I have a little Harbor Freight battery maintainer but I don't wish to be tethered to a cord.

I have 2025 Mav Lariet, also a 2026 F-450 chassis 7.3V8 gas engine on a Motorhome chassis. It's plugged into shore power in pole barn. Roughly 18 days since last start Ford Pass App indicates sleep mode, and the engine battery is fully charged. So Ford sleep mode includes Time as well as 12V SOC in it's sleep algorithm, at least in my Motorhome powered Ford.

My original battery is now over 3 years old.
I have a lithium jump starter under the seat which I've never used .
That's all you need for peace of mind ( and don't forget to recharge it every several months .

I attach a small solar charger under the hood when I'm away for weeks at a time .
The Mav sits in a carport and gets morning sunlight ....

Not sure when I'll buy a fresh battery , of course the dealer says my battery passes their test ...

Yes, have a jump box in your Mav. Gives me peace of mind and you could help a stranded motorist if you need to.

Since I got my 25 hybrid back in February, every 6 weeks I leave for work and it sits for 6 weeks. It has had no issues starting back up and running when I return
