If I were to OP I would wait it out and see because it is still the best option for earliest delivery. 2nd best option is ordering the MY23 the first dat it is available to do so. Santa Cruz is an option and it does look better in person than in pictures, but for me it is a bit too feminine.

Ridgeline is very close. Honda has been back and forth for several years as to adding a hybrid to the truck line. And Honda has hybrids already in their line up. With Mavericks success this may be the deciding factor for them.

I doubt it will be in the same price ballpark even with the price increase the Maverick will have to have. The Ridgeline starts at $37,640 MSRP

I don’t think so, but the automotive journalist who tell the public what to think put them in the same competitive space as they do the SantA Cruz which I don’t feel is anything like the Maverick. If you really break it down, Maverick is just a cheaper, different designed Ridgeline.

Do some of these writers consider what they write in their articles? If you are talking about a base Maverick and a base Colorado, the price is in the same ballpark. But $20,000 and $38,000 aren’t even close. Again, it is like me saying I am down to two choices-a Maverick or a Lamborghini. The two vehicles are so close in price, it is hard to decide.

You mean like mine? It’s been a great truck. With a tune, this thing is smokin fast. Hate the 19-20 mpg. That’s why I want a Maverick to drive my 60 miles a day to work and back.

The Maverick orders prior to December 27th will get automatic price protection. Invoices should stay the same for those orders showing dealers to protect the agreed upon price at time the order was submitted.

I am in the same situation as someone above where I have been back and forth with Ashlee at Chapman Horsham regarding the price protection. She pulled up my invoice online and it showed the $890 increase. Will the invoice that arrives with the truck be the one that I was locked into when I ordered in August? Also, I updated my trim from XLT to Lariat in October - I should still be locked into the pre-price increase, yes?

They will not reinvoicing to the original invoice so dealers will need to honor the original order price, so in your case $890 less than invoice and in 45 days Ford will credit their payment statement that amount.

Maverick I ordered July 5, 2021 is scheduled for production this week. The window sticker on the tracking tool was available yesterday. Total msrp increased $890.00 from msrp at time of order.

Lariat base, lux package and co-pilot prices increased

Using info found here, the truck was invoiced January 20, 2022.

Margins are thin on the Maverick, I’m guessing that even at 4% below invoice, looking at least an additional $800.

My issue is with Ford, not the dealer.

I am 70 years old and similar things occurred over the years with other past purchases. I was never happy regardless how well the item worked and regretted buying it.

For this reason, I decided to walk away and pursue other options.

Well that's to Sad for you not being informed as the price on your order sheet is what you pay when your truck would've arrived at your Dealer, Your dealer would recoup the difference from Ford

I am in a similar situation with Chapman horsham where the price is higher than previously stated. Not sure what the price of the truck will be. I heard via this forum that if we ordered before 12/26/21 that we would be price protected. It is not very clear what the steps are to price protect. Has anyone paid, gone thru price protection had their maverick delivered/picked up from Chapman horsham?
