It’s the principle not the amount.

I wrote in my original post that I will pursue other options. That includes looking locally for cancelled orders.
Ahh....the joys of retirement...TIME to look around.
Enjoy the time....I'm not sweating a 5% change as my time is worth more...especially at BELOW MSRP in this current market!

The Maverick orders prior to December 27th will get automatic price protection. Invoices should stay the same for those orders showing dealers to protect the agreed upon price at time the order was submitted.
Thank you for the quick response.

I am now confused again in terms of both the OP’s original posts and @996ttderm ’s. conversation with Ashlie from Chapman.

@Dealerinsider - Can you clear this up?

This sounds to me like the protection is automatic, no action required from the dealership.

I get tired of (unfounded) disparagement of Boomers by the following generations- when every good thing they have in their lives is taken for granted, but was provided to them by the exact same Boomer generation they complain about.
Said the guy using the internet.

Boomers did not create everything good in the world. I know it's hard to swallow that everyone gets older and becomes less relevant to the world at large, but it happens. A little grace goes a long way.
and the world didn't just start when Millennials got their 1st mobile phone- with everything before that being conveniently ignored or condemned by current popular woke culture. Ever hear of Respect Your Elders? “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” ?

I respect a man with principles and someone who is basically telling Ford I’m not playing your stupid game. There will come a day when everyone who wants a Maverick has one and Ford will be discounting them to try and sell some. And with the Mavericks “unexpected “ success there will be other automakers coming out with competition soon.
At 70 years old this long hauler may not have all that time you are putting forth, we may be under constraints for quite a while. It also takes a bit of time to develop a new vehicle and get it approved.

The Chatti Germanic tribe handed you everything in the first century BC. I've never once heard you praise them. So disrespectful. Every generation since then has just taken everything they did for granted. Back when they were around, everything was perfect and great. It's been downhill ever since. I can't believe the world hasn't ended yet, but I'm sure it's coming soon!

See what I did there?

Trust me. All the auto makers knew about the Maverick well before it came out. Most of us did and we aren’t in the business. Those that are old enough remember the S-10, previous “little” Ranger, last year’s Frontier. All about the Mavericks size. Just stretch a little and add rear doors. Drop a hybrid system in which they all have access to. Maverick is not a new concept and size that has not been around before. Like your old bell bottoms things are just coming around again in a new package.

Then please tell us what else is coming out from whom? Even when they come out we are going to be under constraints for a while. If I were to OP I would wait it out and see because it is still the best option for earliest delivery. 2nd best option is ordering the MY23 the first dat it is available to do so. Santa Cruz is an option and it does look better in person than in pictures, but for me it is a bit too feminine.
