Weeeellll, been waiting since August finally took delivery and everything was tip top until I tried to run Android Auto. Evidently they did not connect the USB ports to anything. Dead on arrival. I have to wait until the "electrical guy" gets in to fix it all. Gonna have to navigate old school.....

It's the same with our 2018 Honda CRV. The USB ports charge, but don't transfer any data.

I suspect the USB cable. I can't count how many do the charging but won't pass the date. Subtract two conductors from the cable, and two terminal points at each end, Times 10 million and you save a pile o' dough if you make 'charge only' cables.
Try a different cable.

The shop just called. They "forgot" to put the cable from USB ports to the infotainment system. They have to order it from Mexico.

The worst part is that if you have the correct cable connector it's probably a very easy fix.

Isn't it just a fancy mini-USB wire to the ACIM? Although I'm not positive what connector the other end that plugs into the ACIM is.

I was messing around with my USB port and put a little pressure on it and pop, out it came! This was awesome because I could see who it plugs in. If you unplug the wire to the USB port you have a MINI USB Male connection. If you buy this dongle from amazon (https://amz.run/5IYn) for $7 (free prime shipping) you have all you need to make it all disappear.

Geez, their building them everyday, they can’t pull 1 and ship it. Where is Quality Control? This must have went out the window along the way….

I wonder if a splitter would work for connecting a CarPlay dongle and tucking it behind the console, and then reconnecting your micro usb to the port and then buttoning it all up again?

I tried 2 separate ways to connect my Carplay dongle back there. Miniusb to USB C, no dice. Got an adapter mentioned on the Android auto thread for miniusb to USBA and it killed the ports until I did a factory reset on the head unit - there was no power and data.

I was fine giving up that port, it charges slow as crap anyway, but now I have the adapter just inside the trim there with the wire coming out at a seam.

Figured Amazon would get mad at several short period returns on this project, so eating the cost on the adapters and will try again with that whenever my Lariat is delivered. For now, I may buy a flat 90* USBA to USB C and see if I can make it look a little cleaner, or I will just wait until my order arrives to mess with all of it again.

I really hate the wire hanging there with the adapter mounted underneath, other than that the TNTVEC wireless Carplay adapter has been perfect.
