Yep, they're saying it's the harness. And it's backordered. But it's the battery cable going into the harness but I guess you can't just splice in a new cable, you have to replace the entire (backordered) harness. It was really cool having a new truck for a month.
If you check out one of my posts on this thread (post #22) I attached photos from the dealer.

At first they told me they tracked a harness down, turns out its on the same backorder as yours. I am currently able to drive it though. The dealer tech figured out a repair that ford factory said was really a "permanent" repair and safe to drive.

they gave me a crappy EcoSport that doesn't fufill my needs which I need a truck for.

Ford is a pretty crappy company and I regret buying the Maverick. I wish I just bought a Corolla Hybrid instead.
Huh?

I have had my 2022 Maverick Hybrid XLT for about 2 1/2 months and I got my first "Deep Sleep" message on my FordPass App this morning.

I have an ANCEL BST100 Battery Load Tester and testing the battery at the time of the Deep Sleep notice these were the results:

Healthy: 66% 316CCA
Charge: 29% 12.09V
Internal R = 9.41 mohm
GOOD-RECHARGE

After having the Maverick ON for about 45 minutes (HV Battery charging the 12V battery) and the ICE engine running some minutes to charge the HV Battery these were the new readings when I got home from grocery shopping and washing the truck.

Healthy: 100% 412CCA
Charge: 75% 12.55V
Internal R = 7.22 mohm
GOOD BATTERY

I set the tester for 390A CCA as the label on the battery shows 45Ah and 390A. Nowhere is a CCA number shown so I just used the 390A as the CCA number. If this is wrong let me know the correct number.

Since your battery somehow drained out enough to get this message and as you confirmed, the battery was low. To look for issues with wire harness, if you have a ohm meter, can you please check ohms between the -ve on the battery and the jump start point under the hood (-ve), to see if all of the connections in between are solid. 1st measure the ohms between the leads, then measure between the test points. This may look good but there could still be a problem with the connection. It's hard to find weak/loose connections, weak/bad connection will ohm out ok but high current can't pass, can heat up the weak connection points, further making it weaker. Or mechanical connection can make intermittent connection due to engine vibration.
I assume this truck turns everything off if some thing was left On after a period of time. For example if the door was not closed all the way, the inside lights would turn off after some time. So, it's not a drain issue.
Keep us posted if it gets worse. Thank you.

I noticed you have 400W inverter, I don't. Does it have a switch to turn ON/OFF. Is it only powered when the truck is ON?

I do have a multimeter with an ohm scale.

What exactly are the "-ve" points you are talking about?

Do you mean checking the resistance from the battery positive terminal to the positive jump point under the hood?

If so the leads on the multimeter cannot stretch that far from the rear seat to the under the hood.

There is no ON/OFF switch for the inverter.

It is only powered when the vehicle is ON.

Draining and/or not charging is still happening.

I had a long trip today to and from Home Depot about 30 minutes each way and testing the battery 6 hours after the trips shows the charge is now only 51% down from 75% yesterday.

So one of three things is happening:

1. The battery is not being charged fully
2. Something is causing excessive drainage
3. The battery is starting to fail

You guys had me worried the whole time I was in Florida over this... We left Michigan on 1/31/22 and I left my Maverick in the garage. On Valentines day eve I got a message from my maverick that is was going into deep sleep. My wife suspected it was because I wasn't going to be there for Valentines day, and my Maverick was pining away. Anyway, when we got home on 2./27/22 it started right up.

The other thread indicated bad/loose connection on the black wire that connects the charger to the battery -ve cable, you might want to check that. It's right next to the +ve terminal under the hood, it has a plastic flip up cover with DO NOT JUMP markings.

I think you can rule out the drain by checking the battery right after a trip. It show more charge after a trip, compare to before. If it does not, that means it's not being charged during the trip.

Depending on how long that battery sat before being installed in your truck, and how low it actually got when you got the low battery warning, it may just be bad now. If it has experienced excessive sulfication you're never going to get 100% charge. The trips to/from Home Depot should have resulted in 100% charge. Either that battery is just bad, or there is a short somewhere.

When I first started getting the deep sleep mode messages and noticed the battery voltage drop, the Truck still started normally for about a week until it finally died. Once that happened, the drain seemed to get worse because the dealer put a new battery in to try to do a quick fix and it died 2 days later again.

And another little update. My truck has been at the dealer now for a month. A Ford engineer was supposed to look at it 1 week ago but I haven’t been contacted since. A Ford customer relations employee just called me and said they think they fixed it but it’s sitting at the dealer to make sure it’s not draining anymore however, the truck has been in Deep Sleep mode and hasn’t connected to FordPass since yesterday indicating the problem hasn’t been fixed. I didn’t even bother telling the customer relations employee because they seem to be clueless and only my service advisor knows whats actually going on. I still don’t know what the purpose of that department is. They don’t seem to get anything done or solved or even offer you anything as an apology for your inconvenience.

My advice for anyone reading this thread who has problems with their Mav, record a video of your issues so you can prove it, keep ALL your service records and work orders, and make sure your service advisor writes down ALL of your concerns on the work order.

I’m surprised Ford hasn’t issued a recall about this yet or the glowing cat issue. I would definately keep your car parked outside or on the street if you have the glowing cat issue. That sounds like a fire waiting to happen.

Or open/lose between charger and battery.
