Salesman called me on a 22 XLT AWD lux package that was turned down. Went and looked but decided to pass as it didn’t have safety features I wanted, then 3 months later I got a text from another dealer they had a low mileage Lariat AWD lux with copilot 360. Got MSRP for my 21 Ranger trade in and they only tacked on $4K to MSRP on Mav so I’m happy.

I didn't need my salesman to tell me I was in store for a long wait. I read it here on MTC. :ROFLMAO:

What I think is ticking off most people is that years ago .... before the COV crap.....you would go to a dealership and they would usually have a car on the lot with what you wanted...or you could get one coming in within a month or so.... Then COV hit and now you can't get anything that you want...and most of the cars and trucks on the lots are not exactly want you want and on top of that they are marked up by some incredible amount due to "adjusted market conditions BS" which would never have flown before COV. The real issue is penny pinching corporations that farmed out everything overseas and then got burned badly with no parts available. The real problem is with the executives who were running Ford and GM making extremely poor decisions to save a buck and line their pockets. Notice that some car makers had nowhere near the issues that Ford and GM had since they had less greedy and smarter execs in those corporations.
The next CEO opening at a car manufacturer you should apply. With your extensive knowledge, wisdom and experience they will fight over who gets you. (y)

Don’t apply it would be too unfair to others. CEO/CFOs need to be a highly social, hopefully moral sociopath, based on common tendencies of successful CEO/CFO from science into business.
If you don’t have an incredible lust for power, money and control of others, do not apply. Since those traits make you angry, you may NOT be a sociopath.

If I was as angry at Ford as some posters here seem to be, I’d cancel my order, get my deposit back, and buy something else. My dealer was honest up front that it would probably be close to a year, at best, when I ordered in September ‘22. I’ll wait for a Maverick as long as it takes. There’s nothing else out there with the same features and price point as my XL hybrid. I do have sympathy for the people who have to buy a truck quickly. There’s almost no way to get a Maverick quickly and anywhere close to MSRP.
Same...I ordered the Tremor package on mine and my dealer told me that they weren't producing Tremors until the 2nd part of the production year so I was looking May to September for getting mine. I was built 6/8 and am just waiting on delivery. I might have been getting impatient at times but i was forewarned

Mine was ordered the first day the order banks opened in Sept 22. XL Hybrid with very few options. So far, no truck, no VIN, just emails from Ford saying "We are trying". I currently own a Toyota hybrid so I am not interested in an ecoboost, plus i own a Jeep Renegade so i don't really need a 4X4 maverick. Luckily my Toyota is fine and don't really "need" the Maverick, so i can wait. One thing i am unhappy about is that they are discontinuing Area 51, which is my color of choice. Why, i have no idea. I guess there is still a chance my 23 will get built.

My salesman stays in touch with me better than FMC. I’ve had 2 “45 day” letters since November. My salesman calls every month. When I placed my order in September ‘22 the salesman said “6 months to a year….probably closer to a year”.
I got the same information. My dealer calls monthly and I’ve received 3 emails from Ford.

I think anyone having issues should possibly reorder with another dealer just to hedge their bets before the order banks reopen (whenever that really is..July 17 ???). If you ordered before the opening last year and you have not heard anything from the dealer or directly from Ford Motor Company about the status then there is an issue. I was kept informed pretty much every month from Dec. of 2022 as to the status of my Maverick which went into the order banks in Sept....delivery sometime in July to dealer. (If they didn't get your email address than that was a big mistake and you should see if your dealer can fix it.) I suggest you reorder from a large dealer (example Chapman in PA) before the banks reopen. The sooner you are in line the better just in case they their allocations are filling up fast with preorders. However Ford did state that they believe the number of NY24 orders will be dropping due to price increases from inflation. In any case I doubt there are any price reserves still outstanding for those that ordered long ago. With regards to refunds, I have placed orders for 3 vehicles with both Ford and GM. I had no issues with refunds from any dealer and they were immediate CC reimbursement or checks mailed out (Some 1K). Just read the fine print to make sure it states no refunds for initial deposits...although I doubt that would hold up in small claims court anyway. In some order forms they may state the dealer has 120 days to fulfill contract before termination.

I knew it would be a long wait, Even though I hated waiting it works out for me time wise. It looks like my truck will be built in about a month and with delivery taking about another month or so, I should get mine at right about a year after the order. It is almost perfect timing as my 13 year old, still running fine, Honda Element will be passed down to my little girl a month before she turns 16.

You have to order from the same dealer to get the private offer for an unscheduled 23 order.

I just read the July 3 notice that informed those 23MY holders who basically don't have a build date to immediately contact their dealers and place a secondary 24MY order at a reduced price in case their 23 does not get built in time. With all the Lariat package option changes it seems like it would be hard to calculate a final price.

Had an opportunity to buy a new 22 XLT AWD with lux package that someone had ordered and changed their mind. Decided to pass on it as I wanted reverse sensing and copilot 360 with blind spot monitoring. 4 months later got a text from another dealer, they had a low mile Lariat AWD, lux package and copilot 360. They wanted $4K over MSRP, almost passed on it but they sweetened the pot by offering MSRP for my 21 Ranger. 6 months and 8K miles later I’m very pleased with my Mav.
