Actually, my Dad had an answer for that..
Being a mechanic and machinist.. He always had preventive maintenance on his mind...
"You drive-in to a spot, then check for leaks when you back out"...

It proved itself for ME a few times...

Jerry

P. S.
For those who love their backup camera....
What did YOU DO before hand...
🤔 As I recall
When one or two larger Vehicles would park next to me blocking my vision. I would slowly back out till I could see or I heard horns honking from a car coming who didn't want to stop.
There are times when your vision is blocked by bigger vehicles. No amount of head twisting or side view mirrors are going to help you.
That's where the camera comes in handy. The backup camera is a handy tool just like any tool you may not use it all the time but at least it's there. It is especially helpful when parallel parking.
I hope that answer your question.

But if you DO see a leak indication when backing out, was it from your vehicle or a previous one? Did you check also when driving IN to see if there was a preexisting spot on the ground?

I was told by a car salesman once to always drive into a spot. He said you should never back into a spot. His reasoning was all the expensive stuff is at the front end of the vehicle. If someone backs into you in a parking lot, you’re more likely just to lose a bumper instead of your radiator and everything else under the hood. Personally I can see advantages to both ways.
If I'm driving a company vehicle (which I rarely do), we're required to back into our parking spots. Of course, some of our vehicles are big trucks that are hard to see around.

It is hard in parking lots sometimes. I tend to pull through when I park so I don't have to back out of my spot. It's definitely safer.
Or back in in the first place. Then pull out. Our Wal-Mart has angled parking so person can not back in.

Doesn't affect Lariat, they should have made Sync3 standard in all trim levels IMO instead of relying on outdated and underpowered hardware for the XL / XLT versions.
Is that what happened? It doesn't affect all XLs and XLTs either, so did they change the hardware for those trim levels in 2024?

Yup! I do the same. I love the fact that the back-up camera stays on a bit longer when I go back into D. Easier to line up with the rear white line.
I’ve never had a freeze problem with the back-up camera, and may not have that particular recall done, if it “corrects” that “problem”.

Yea . I don't pull thru because when someone pulls into the spot behind me I can't unload groceries into pickup bed . cart won't fit . Groceries go into cooler and milk crate in pickup bed .

That's where I just pull through so I'm pointing out. Have to rely on the Maverick's fairly tight turning radius to get pointed in the right direction.

A good system when you're dealing with a lot of heat. I generally just put them on the passenger seat floor and seat. Convenient to unload, and I can reach over and find the chips to eat on the way home.

As far as the BackUp camera goes...
I use thè Analog ones (My Mirrors)....
They have worked "Fine" for the last 47 years...🤣

Jerry
I personally turn and look. When I think the camera should see something it doesn’t. When there is something that would be visible to a visually impaired person it works fine. What would really be nice is if the camera had better perifial vision. There are times when I come close because I couldn’t see and the truck didn’t seem to see the bicycle

I know some folks dont think of little things like this. But. I do look for spots. (I am one of those who parks on the other side of the parking lots.. 🤣 )
I was also lucky to camp out a clean spot when our company moved...
Hey, my vehicle is a part of me..
