Well it’s 67 degrees this morning, I’m not sure what planet you live on but that’s not AC temperature… and I don’t want my truck choosing to blow AC for me when it’s 67 degrees lol… I’m always the odd one out, but back in the day (5 years ago) when you could choose settings in your car now seems like a luxury
It might be 67 outside but if the car has the sun shining through the windows the inside temperature could be slightly higher than what you have the temperature set at so it'll blow cold. Happens to me with all my cars in spring and fall. The outside temp is 60, which is chilly, but since the sun was shining in the car for a few hours the inside of the car is hotter than 72 which I have my temperature set at. It blows cold. Sometime I turn it off. Or turn the temperature setting up.

This is where it factors in the outside temperature.
No it does not. The fan powers up when the cab is several degrees above my cabin temp setting.
Night time or bright sunlight. My Auto A/C works the same.
It’s only job, only directive is to heat or cool the cabin to the user set temperature and then maintain that temp.

The cabin gets hotter faster inside in direct sunlight of course, I think that misleads people.

Keep in mind that A/C doesn't necessarily mean "cold". It also means "dry". You can run your A/C compressor with the heat set at 80 degrees with low ambient/cabin temperatures, and your climate control system will be blowing warm air.

A/C = compressor on
Max A/C = compressor on, recirculating air.

Then why does the fan speed up before the cabin heats up when the sensor goes from shade to sun?

The AC is used to dehumidify the air before it gets heated to speed up defog/avoid fogging. Especially beneficial on those chilly mornings when the outside humidity is high. This is fairly universal with automatic climate systems.

There no reason to turn it off, if the outside temperature is below a certain level, the ac isn’t running regardless of the light. And even when running The new compressors are variable displacement. They don’t pump as hard when not needed. Also, the ac keeps the windows from fogging up . Just Let the truck do its thing. It’s designed this way . Also turning the compressor off when shutting the engine down is not necessary anyway. It’s just a personal preference by some. Bu You’re not really helping or hurting anything. Again, let the truck do its thing.

The truck interior warms up just as fast with or without the compressor running. The compressor acts to prevent the windows from fogging up. If you’re sitting in your truck with the heat on, and your windows aren’t fogging up, your ac compressor is probably on. That’s true with almost ANY vehicle made in the last 30 years,

All that is needed now is a sensor in our pants controlled by software in our head to tell us when to Pee.

If it's 67 degrees out and your temperature is set to 72, it won't start cooling the truck even if the AC is "on." Modern vehicle climate control systems aren't like the old manual knobs for heating and cooling.

And as many have noted, the AC system can reduce the humidity in the truck, and comes on with functions like, say, maximum setting on the defogger (which also runs maximum heat). Unless you're worried about gas mileage, leave it on when it comes on.

YOU are a breathing humidifier. Sit in your car without running the ventilation system and watch the windows fog up in minutes. In most cases, if it’s cold and you’re sitting in your vehicle with no fog on the windows, the ac compressor is running whether you know it or not
