I had a 2022 maverick the totaled it when I hit a deer before Christmas. It should not have been totaled. Because of ETA of parts and having to out source they decided to total it. I was getting around 26 to 29 MPG driving about 100 miles a day going to work.

I now bought a 2023 tremor because the only thing I really wanted from my original maverick was not AWD. So when I found a Grey AWD tremor said why not.

With the tremor driving the same 100 miles it's about the same MPG if any change I would say maybe more around the 26 to 27 mpg. With that said I have alot more bang for my buck with the tremor over my other maverick. Either way I love my truck and I use it all the time even turn heads with what I do with it. Yes this is a weekly trip I make in my truck to get hay with my daughter. The bang for the dollar and all the things you can do in this truck is insane plus when you put 30k a year on a truck my first one held up just fine.

Hey, just wanted to comment, maybe I read it wrong, but doesn't seem to be much difference (except price) between an AWD w/tow package and the Tremor. Also they are saying fuel economy drops 10-15 miles per gal. With the Tremor package.
I have a 2023 AWD/tow package 2.0 turbo, and I'm getting 28-32 miles per gal. My options also mirror a Tremor. I also ordered mine, factory direct, and final cost was $32,500.

There is so much to the Tremor package that an AWD 4K tow doesn't have - but the major ones being revised PTU and RDU.

My Tremor averaged 23.8mpg over 8,600 miles.

Other than that its not big deal. 4000lbs isnt enough of a tow rating to be considered a big deal what so ever. So overloading a 2000lb rating vs having a 4000lb rating is laughable.
Its hilliarious how many people make a big deal about the tow rating.
Especially since only a small percentage of those making the big deal will actually tow anything let alone 4k.
OP is self justifying his choice based on some sketchy info and that's ok I guess, his truck.

"Also they are saying fuel economy drops 10-15 miles per gal. With the Tremor package."
I suggest he gets smarter "theys" for data so obviously wrong.

"doesn't seem to be much difference (except price) between an AWD w/tow package and the Tremor."
Again ill informed, very. It's a long list.

"My options also mirror a Tremor"
@Kwikrick what Tremor package options does your truck have?

You can obviously pull more than 2,000 lbs. You just can't tow more than 2,000 lbs over long distances.

Obviously the tow hooks are for the Tremor to be towed. No one tows another vehicle in reverse (which is what you are implying).
The manufacturer says otherwise, MAX towing capabilities. Max is there for a reason especially if it pertains to staying within the guidelines of the manufacturers warranty.

You obviously haven't off road. If someone in front of you needs pulled it maybe the only feasible alternative, in certain situations. I will agree if I have that option I always pull from the hitch. Sometimes it's not an option.

Out of curiosity why can’t you order the tow package with the Tremor? I know there are suspension differences as well as the transmission and 4wheel drive system is different. To me being able to order the package only makes sense.

The Tremor tow ratings are only because the radiator isnt rated for the mountains at 4000lbs with without risking warranty claims. Also the springs are softer so it may have a little more movement and sag in the rear. Other than that its not big deal. 4000lbs isnt enough of a tow rating to be considered a big deal what so ever. I don't know why the manufacturer limits or allows a vehicle it's towing capabilities and I highly doubt you do as well. If I was to guess it needs payload capabilities for one. A hitch receiver sticks past the rear of the truck which is the worst spot for weight. Thus the reason for limiting the tongue weight to 400lbs. It could also be the lift and the suspension causing more roll which if the driver can easily over compensate and the trailer would start to sway or worse. It could be the frame, transmission, differentials (lockers) can't handle it. To be honest there are a host of possibilities. Unfortunately all I have I or anyone can go by is the manufacturers guidelines.

Your forgetting a HUGE difference, tremor can only tow half as much. Deal breaker in my book.

The Tremor has a locking rear differential. 1" lift. Stronger CV joints. Different suspension with hydraulic bump stops. Water cooled PTU. Also the Tremor has better approach, departure and breakover angles. These are the main mechanical differences from the FX4 with 4k.

There are also some appearance differences.

4K tow also gives you some hardware advantages over Tremor & the ability to get BAP.

Well it is a big deal if your towing. I have an 1800lb 2 bike trailer and when loaded with 2 motorcycles @approx 700lbs each now I'm up to 3200lbs which my Maverick handles very well. Along with the towing, I have a heavier rear suspension, the bigger tires and wheels, and cooling system which adds to the durability and performance of the vehicle. Also, I own an F350 which will pretty much tow anything.

My Tremor would tow your bikes just fine. I personally with only one human power can move around 4000lbs of trailer by hand. I used to have to do it all the time at a fence company I worked at. I know everyone on here is by the book law abiding citizens. Im not and never really have been. Ive towed 13,000lbs with a E250 rated for 10,000. It didnt care. Ive also towed 4500 with a CJ5 that wasnt rated for anything, it didnt care. In general outside of laws and warranties and lightweight sports cars. It is within reason to tow anything under around a given vehicles weight. The key point is to tow safely. Under the speed limit, maintain long braking distances, use mirrors constantly, etc, etc.....

I know, lock me up, just make sure to put me in Sammy Hagars cell so our council Dee Snider knows where to find us.

Nice. I wonder if the Tremors are having less issues with the factory CV's due to this?

Keep in mind there are habitual line steppers here on the forums when it comes to towing. Pushing the limits is not smart, and there are even threads where they admit to being over them or loaded improperly basically saying "I've done this for years" etc etc...

It's all fun and games until ones insurance company gets involved wondering why they were towing over the limit and what caused the accident...

Haven't seen any Tremors report issues with them but the Tremor sample size is much smaller. They don't look much beefier than stock and Ford is relatively coy about what upgraded actually means.

There is more to it than "manufacturer tow ratings, warranty concerns" or being a law abiding citizen. How about liability and/or criminal charges if something goes really bad and someone is badly injured or killed in an accident? You exceed any manufacturers ratings, you just inherited a boatload of liability whether or not it was your fault. Those 1-800-scumbags are everywhere as are DA's looking to hang someone. Are you really willing to lose everything with such an attitude?
