Trailer Hitch Adapter For 2024 XLT

Hello all,

I just installed a trailer hitch on my 2024 XLT Maverick and discovered that they don’t provide the plugin for the 4-pin connector. So I ordered the whole wiring setup. I’d really like to use the OEM 4-pin because my hitch has the recess for it and it has the closing lid. I’m wondering if there’s some sort of adapter to connect these two pieces in the picture together or if I’m going to have to do some wire splicing. Thanks in advance!!

I know of no off the shelf adapter available, I'd just splice it with weatherproof butt splices and call it good.

Is the thing on the left not the 4-pin plug that goes on the trailer side? I don't know why Ford would make that, but who knows.

The tan connector plugs into a harness on the truck. Not sure it exists if your truck did not come with a hitch originally.

Yeah, that’s the problem I’m having is that my truck didn’t come with a plugin for the OEM connector. So I had to buy an aftermarket assembly to wire it all up. I want to use the OEM connector rather than the 4-pin that the wiring assembly came with because it can slip into the recess of the trailer hitch and is a little more durable feeling and looking.

No problem. I just checked my stock, I don't have any of the 2x6 12-pin female sockets, otherwise I could make up a short jumper.

I would return that wiring and gab the Curt adapter.
You have to run a power wire but otherwise it's pretty neat with no wire hacking.

Without the OEM harness wiring from the Trailer Tow Module to C401 female connector up under the bed, better to use the Curt Adapter as mentioned.

Great minds think alike! Since I have the female terminals already, I ordered a couple of the light gray "B" housings earlier today, I have a box of 4-flat trailer plugs. I'm pretty sure he already has the Curt harness, and I understand his desire to use the OEM socket/door in the factory bracket.
