Does anyone have any ideas how to utilize the factory Trailer Sway Control after adding an "aftermarket trailer hitch and wiring harness"? My XL came less the factory hitch so I added it but was wondering if that feature could be activated or is it always on already? Any (safe) way to check that or verify it is on?

You might be able to activate it through forscan. What's not clear is if there is any special hardware needed for it.

Googling around about how it works, Ford claims it uses a few gyroscopes to determine the turning rates and vehicle roll , etc... So if the base model truck doesn't have those gyroscopes, I doubt the Sway Control Feature would work.

The setting does show up on my dash to turn it on or off, just not sure how to confirm it is working. I need to research where those sensors would reside.

Didn't realize it was already in your menu. It will probably just work. It's really just a special kind of traction control/drive mode and all the hardware for that is already present.
