I had a recall service yesterday with my dealer for the latest towing recall. I am sharing because there is something new happening and I thought you all should know about it.
My dealer set a remote service all, where they were going to come to my home to fix the issue. It was for yesterday. The remote service guys were running behind, so the dealer had a backup guy call me and ask me if I would still be there in an hr and he was coming out. During the conversation, he discovered in their computers that the service had already been complete by Ford over the air, and the dealer had not been informed.
So here is the bottom line, Ford can perform these fixes over the air, but they are not marking it as completed, so you dealer doesn't know and may contact you for a service call you don't need. My dealer has seen this happen several times in the last few weeks, and are submitting reports to Ford to correct and close these recalls.
Hope this info helps.
