Totaled or not?

Saturday night i got hit by a dumbass Challenger driver.

You all think this is totaled?

Fudge, just found another part of the body-on-frame tat is damaged; I circled them.

Airbags did not deploy.

Kind of close because of door jam sheet metal , but since no airbaigs or seatbelts , probably in the $14-12k range .if miles are not too high , probably a fixer upper.

Sorry to see this. I voted fixable hoping the frame is still in tact. Being forced to replace is a big economic headache.

I voted fixable also thinking that rear door sill is not damaged enough to harm the integrity of the unibody. If it had been below door, well ....

Doesn't look that bad, however, I'm no insurance adjuster.

Normally I would say fixable, but I don't know how an insurance adjustor would view the damage to the sill.

I am not a repair tech or insurance adjuster, but in general it looks fixable. Like some others have said, I bet it will be costly, but fixable. But at the same time insurance could just say "screw it"... and that's that. One of those "repair it will cost 20k, and vehicle worth 22k... here is your check for 22k".

On this site there have been a couple rear end fender benders that just barely bent the frame and had less damage to the tailgate than your back door shows, and yet it ended up being "totaled". And at the same time some members had damage repaired with no issues....so i would suggest start thinking good thoughts! But I feel it should be repairable unless they dig deeper and notice other issues that are not as obvious.

I'm going to guess fixable coming in around 15,000 or just slightly less. But as others mention I'm not an insurance adjuster and some would rather total it than bother fixing it.

Did you drive it after? If you did and it tracked straight (hands off wheel), then maybe. It's difficult to tell from photos. Even if it pulls slightly, it's possible that it was knocked out of alignment slightly but it needs measurements to determine if frame suffered.

I drove it fine. Didn't pull to either side. Drove it both on the freeway and on side streets and it was driving normal

Really depends on what the salvage bid is for the insurance company whether they total or not

OUCH! So sorry to see that. People need to pay attention too many senseless accidents

I'm not a body shop tech or insurance adjuster, so I didn't vote.

If you want to get it fixed, what I would do is get multiple estimates, if someone tells you it's totaled. Make sure you ask about "diminished" value, when negotiating a payment.
