I know these 2.0 turbo engines can easily reach 155 I traded in a 18 HPR focus ST with the 2.0 for my maverick and you would get 35 in 1st 61 in 2nd 90 in 3rd and 120 in 4th, imagine a 6 speed in this if they ever make a ST version, basically a Focus ST engine with a focus RS advanced AWD with torque vector(I know there only in tremor right now) but easily could be what they might put in a ST version. All I know is my Tremor will have to go if they finally make a ST

From LIVINUP's MY 23 FORScan spreadsheet looks like Ford anticipated police using the Maverick. Wanted to be sure they could catch another one. Be sure you are on the Autobahn with the rest of the speedy nuts.

I got an idea. Ford has the max speed locked so you can't go over 108. But if you put oversize tires on, you can change the drive ratio. What if you bought a bigger diameter tire and programmed it for the smallest size wheel possible? The downside is your speedometer would be way off. You would have to drive with a GPS to know your true speed. Which I do sometimes anyway.

I 'know a guy' who got a then-new early 80's Ford Taurus SHO up to the governed max speed of 142 mph on a closed section of highway... It was still pulling hard right up to that point, then just stopped accelerating. A lot like the video posted above (only at higher speed). Rock solid at that speed, but still... That's covering a lot of ground per heartbeat! He says "Never again!"
In 2002, I was living in Germany and bought a 1991 SHO from another Soldier leaving. It had been registered continuously in Germany since October 1991. :)

That car PULLED to 90mph like not many other cars! My ex-wife didn't like driving much faster than that so that's where the cruise was set on Autobahn trips (in the areas without speed limits). And the stick shift was super excellent because instant acceleration when needed, instead of waiting for downshifts.

Getting past 120mph took a lot of open road- which even there was not that often. I pegged the speedo at 140mph a couple times. :D :) :D :)

But you're supposed to change the rod/crankshaft bearings at 100k miles. Unfortunately I never did and at 172k miles on Autobahn A6 just west of Mannheim the engine grenaded. :( I shipped the fiberglass hood, rare "rod shifter", and wheels with new tires with my furniture and sold them to other SHO fans in Maryland.....

This might be an old thread but with the limiter gone with my tune I've managed to hit 140 in one of these (in a safe and controlled environment). Not to mention most tires you get for these are H rated and are only good for 130...

The car does try to kill you if you corner even a little hard though. Please drive responsibly.

There was some kind of mix-up between Ford corporate and the plant in Hermosillo. They wanted to limit the speed to 108 kph (67mph), but somehow they thought they meant miles per hour.

Do you all posting your numbers have the GPS tracking feature enabled so Ford can see everywhere you go and how fast you are going? Are you aware that even if you don't give permission on the dash settings to share location with your insurance company, there is speculation that Ford could sell that data anyway, without your permission? Has anyone thought about disabling telematics by pulling fuse #11 and/or unplugging the power connector in the center console?

Every car I’ve ever had had Speedo that went higher then the car would run stock. Go figure.
Once i had a 57 Fairlane with the Thunderbird 312 4V engine and it would bury the speedometer past 130. No electronics on that car!
