I am wanting to get into a 2025 Maverick and am currently in a lease with Chevy until March. I'm trying to figure out when I should start the process of ordering to ensure there is a maverick there for me when I turn my lease in. I'm sure if it comes too early is not good either the dealer wont sit on it for too long. I've contacted a dealer but was told they don't really know but usually takes 3 months for an order to come in. Thought I'd ask here and see if anyone can help. I'm not even that particular in what it needs to have but sure I dont want to take my chance that dealer has one on the lot either.

They don’t start building the 25s until November 11th and then they will have a 6 week quality hold after that. Probably won’t start seeing the first batch delivered until end of December or January. I would say order now.

You also need to consider what configuration you are ordering? XL hybrids have been hard to get for 22-24 Mavericks. We don't know yet because 25 scheduling has yet to commence, but I am anticipating that Hybrid AWD will also be a constrained option, causing longer wait times for those orders.

If you were going to order an EB XLT or Lariat, I think it could come relatively quickly.

I don't think you are going to be able to perfectly time an order, especially on a Mav.

If you are flexible on price and color, you should be able to find a Mav on the lot somewhere when the time comes, as every dealer seems to have 3-4 in stock. Demand for 2025s will go up a little, but I cant imagine that things will return to the panic buying we saw in 2022-23 anytime soon.

Look at your lease and see if you can return early or late. Talk to other Ford dealers and see if they can be flexible on delivery date if it comes in early. The car market is cooling down and they should be willing to work with you a little to make a sale. Just be sure to get it in writing as turnover at the dealer is high.

Dealer allocations and delivery variables are also factors. Exact timing is impossible.
Make contingency plans for early or late delivery. Historically hybrids have been more constrained supply than EB. Expect 2025 to be the same. Think about what you'll do when the vehicle doesn't arrive by March. My XL EB took 9 months which I think was about average for 2024. (some are still waiting for their July 2023 order) 2025 backlog might not be as extensive, but there seems to be a lot of interest in hybrid AWD, so I would still expect there to be backlogs as others have mentioned.

As others have said, it is impossible to predict. We have ordered four different Mavericks since 2021. The first, a 2022 XL Hybrid, took nine months to arrive. The second, a 2023 XLT EB AWD, took four months to arrive. The third, a 2024 XL Hybrid, took six months. And the fourth, an XLT Hybrid, took three months from order to build (it's in transit from the factory to the dealer).

In all cases, we ordered from dealers that had significant Maverick allocations. Thus, we knew we would get it.

The delivery time can vary as well. I am based in Orange County, CA. Thus, delivery by rail to a depot where a truck picks it up and delivers to the dealer is quick. The pickup and delivery by the truck varies a lot. The 2022 PHEV Escape arrived in the depot and sat for thirty-one days. The 2022 XL Hybrid sat fifteen days. The 2024 XL Hybrid took five days from departure from the factory to ready for delivery by the dealership (number one Maverick sales dealer in the US).

The point is that your delivery time depends upon too many variables to predict with any certainty. Furthermore, we are approaching the start of first production of the redesigned 2025 Maverick. The quality verification delay and factory startup time along with supplier deliveries makes fulfillment rates unpredictable at this point.

I agree with the others that suggested you order now (assuming you don't need to wait until Job 2 for certain features) and have contingency plans for early (unlikely) and late delivery. You might want to find out if your lease can be converted to month-to-month at the end so you can stay in your leased vehicle until your new Maverick arrives.

Back in 2021 when I had a leased Escape that was ending, and had my Maverick on order (September), I was able to extend the lease. Memory is a bit hazy, but i think my lease expired in December. I can't remember how long I extended it but let's say 4 months. When April came around and I still didn't get my Maverick, I simply bought the car and then traded it in when I finally got my truck in the end of October, 2022.
Times are different now as I dont think the wait will be as long as that, but I would check to see if you could extend your lease, if you need to.
