What is COVP with regards to placing an order?

On 2023 order threads and posts I see people mention the COVP order. What does that mean? I placed and order and received an email confirming my order from Ford.com. Is that the COVP?

COVP stands for Customer Order Verification (Procedure?). It was very important for 2022 orders, but it's importance for MY23 orders has been limited to ensuring that Ford's Price Protection Policy can be accessed by the original ordering individual, and possibly some other unspoken(by Ford) useage!
COVP is what attaches an individual's Name, email, and physical address to an order, so that Ford knows that the dealer isn't abusing the Maverick ordering process.
The description of COVP has been a moving target for months, so if I missed anything important, please jump in!
