Does anyone know the thread size (specs) of the positive stud under the hood on the hybrid? I'm looking to put a battery tender on the truck and need an additional nut to install the positive wire of the tender harness.

TIA

Thanks. I had a steel hex nut that fit it and a bolt that fit the nut. Wanted a brass hex nut because the stud on the truck is brass. Ended up taking the extra bolt to a local hardware store and found one. Apparently a bit of an odd size, as none of the usual places (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) had one.

Can I use any of the three grounding lugs on the frame in front and below the positive stud for the fused wiring harness for my front license plate holder mounted led bar, with 2 separate 5/16 x 18 nuts, one for the charge line and one for the bar?

Problem is that ground nut isn’t threaded.
I was able to take the nut off of this stud to mount the ground on my battery tender. It is not the same size as the brass positive stud.

Can confirm 5/16”x18 fits. I just wired a horn to it. I have a feeling it is actually the metric equivalent though, as I believe the Maverick does not use SAE

When you took the nut off, did you have to hold the post from turning? Is it welded under the fender well? I was afraid of loosening it and then not being able to tighten it.

I believe that the stud and the nut are a single piece. It's been a while since I installed the battery tender, but my recollection is that the whole nut/stud assembly unscrews. I put a ring terminal on the tender lead and then screwed the nut/stud assembly back in.

5/16" is close to 8mm, which would be my guess. I believe almost everything on the Mav is metric.

The correct size nut for my 24 Hybrid was a SAE 5/16 18 nut for the positive post.

Just coming here to say that a 5/16”x18 nut did not fit on my 2025 XL positive battery post on the under-seat battery terminal bar: it needed an 8mm. In case anyone stumbles in here like I did earlier.

That's why I prefer Ace Hardware when looking for nuts and bolts. One would think HD or Lowe's would carry odd sizes, but they don't.
