Kinda ieeelevant bc op is not lariat,

but is there any reason why, you cant leave stock subwoofer in lariat + tap the 2 wires into hideaway subwoofer and run both together?
And if you actually disconnect the stock sub, does that actually free up let’s say 50 watts off the amp? Or does it not affect the useage eitherway
I don't know enough about the power demands or outputs to answer that one.

I just wonder if leaving the stock sub connected, and tapping the wires, if the pull from the stock sub hitting will affect the hideaway signal. I mean, I’m just thinking electricity surge when the stock sub hits maybe changing the signal into hideaway

I have no idea how it actually works, I assume disconnecting and leaving a hideaway like yours running is ideal

I would delete the stock POS for sure. No need to muddy the waters of your bass. If you went with a decent unit for the hideaway it will be way more powerful than stock. I'm working on upgrading my 2025 lariat sub because that stock unit is absolutely useless. I'm amazed that B&O would even put their name on this set up.

I am going to be putting a 10 inch kicker under my seat rear like a guy I saw on fb. - takes up MINIMAL room, and still allows me to use the large cubby for storage. - its not possible behind the seat, lariat has way too much stuff behind the seats, amp, etc - its also quick connect, so if I needed the room, can just pop it out. and maybe clip the stock clips back onto stock woofer for temporary bass- seems like best bet. it went on sale 277 during Black Friday the 51HS10 kicker

I do wish it was like 2 inches shorter, and there are alternatives that are a little shorter, but id rather have this one, more watts, and 10 inch vs the 8 inches .

will try and snag one on a large sale around time I get vehicle, + going to pay 30 bucks for 4 year Bestbuy warranty, because, its cheap insurance.

because it would be straight trash.. lol

the b&o 6x9 doesn't produce much spl at all, but whatever it is actually capable of doing would manifest as a midbass boom. if it's playing 85 db at 60-200 hz (which is probably overstating it), since your other sub would be louder have better low frequency response, you'd get a very uneven output curve. a spike where the 6x9 is contributing.

thanks, I was just using the idea, 2 is more, which is better idea. will disconnect and just use it if I ever need to remove the 10 for storage reasons.

even if you don't like dave matthews band, I would play the song 'Say Goodbye' from your favorite streaming service (as HQ as possible, so not YouTube) and play it LOUD with and without the 6x9 connected, changing nothing else.

there is a lot of percussion at the start and none of it is extremely low frequency, so your powered 10 should do it pretty well.

I think you would need to get a DSP to control the frequency into the 6x9. Mainly to take a load off of the front 6.5s and the sub. Maybe take the 70 - 130hz range from the 6.5s and give it to the 6x9. Slope upward from 70, peak at 100, slope down to 130. Have the sub take the lower 50-90hz range. 6.5s start at 100hz to hit normal dB at 130hz.

Frequency ranges would all be tuned for a better handoff, but you get the idea.

this is all true but it's just not worth doing with the B&O 6x9.

would it be worth doing if you had custom door pods up front with 8s or long-throw 6.5s, and a 10" sub with a lot of power? yes, and I'd even say necessary.

Great post! Looking to do something similar but with an amp to add some extra power to the door speakers.

there was an Axxess kit going into production that used pioneer head units, but I never saw that anyone got one even though it was announced at SEMA 2023 and I am 99% sure that I heard a guy who was taking a Maverick to SEMA 2024 that he was going to use one.

based on the delays and especially on the fact you can just buy a 2025 Maverick and get a bigger screen with wireless AA & carplay, I would not be surprised if this never goes into production. maybe someone who is an axxess dealer can shed some light on it?
