Hum, speed limit signs, well most are ignored by probably the majority of drivers. Love to hear from someone that can honestly say they never drove beyond a posted speed limit sign

Speed limit signs that are posted on highways & roads, I treat as "suggested" values. Yeah they can suggest or recommend you travel at a such posted velocity, BUT as long as you don't excessively surpass that value, you'll be fine

For many time may be a concern. It takes 22 minutes to drive 20 miles at 55 mph. Only 16 minutes to drive 20 miles at 75 mph. SIX minutes difference. On a short trip you might slow down and smell the roses and have less stress???????
On a long trip I will be right there with you at speed limit and probably above. Just talking a short trip.

I have found that for me when driving long distances in a day, the best speed is around 100km/hour, just over 60 mph. When driving for 8 plus hours/day driving faster lowers my Mile/gal L/100km enough that I have to stop for fuel at least once more than at 100 Kph. The extra stop wipes out any time advantage the extra speed gave me. Milage may vary but I have found this to be true from vehicles like my 72 Big Block Chev 3/4 ton to my now Maverick Hybrid. The same pattern has shown up on every vehicle I have owned since.

Also as I get older, setting the Adaptive cruise control to 100 and staying in the right lane, is so much more relaxing. The time difference when driving from my home in Chilliwack to Vancouver is so little as to not be worth it. Watching the crazies in the left lane following each other a 1/2s or less behind the vehicle in front and seeing the number of multi car accidents in the left lane, Nah!

Poor guy, of course he is right…remember back when congress set it to 55 nationwide? If you can do it great , your truck may last longer and hold up. If you drive like you stole it, more freedom to you.

Drive ~55 mph instead of ~75 mph.
This can be done by choosing different similar routes or by pairing up with other slower vehicles in the right lane. Can be relaxing too!

What do you do if there are no trucks going 55 MPH? Here In California they run at 60-70 MPH. Just drive 55 anyways or just forget the whole idea?

89 octane. 93 is a scam if there ever was one IMO. Definitely full synthetic. Why go half way with the most important maintenance item. My son needed a valve cover replacement on his 3 series at about 250K miles. The cams/shaft looked new. Full synthetic always!

I can save you 100% of your gas. Don't start the Maverick and walk! By your theory going 15 MPH will save even more. I went into the city today. I had choices of routes. 1 where the speed limit is 45 mph or the highway where it is 60 and 65 mph. The 45 MPH route will take 3 to 4 times as long because there's traffic lights about every 1/4 mile. With the EB this KILLS MPG. On the highway I was doing 65 in the 65 section and being passed like I was doing 45. If I had been doing 55 I would have been a HAZARD to traffic. @Cherokee may not be 100% correct but he isn't WRONG either. My 2024 on a over 600 mile round trip averaged 32 mpg on the interstate doing 75 MPH. If I drive mainly 55 routes it's around 27 mpg on a good day. If I'm doing local runs of 35 to 45 mph it's 23 to 26 mpg MAYBE if I catch the lights. Since this was posted in general topics it is a false premise for ALL Mavericks! Go ahead tell me I am stupid, dumb, wrong, not a genius. It doesn't matter to me what your opinion of me is. The only opinion of me that matters is my own.

Reminds me of driving I-40 between Albuquerque and Gallup NM passing through Acoma Indian Pueblo and the speed limit drops to 65 (from 75). Saw an Acoma cop up ahead and slowed down to the speed limit (while in the right lane). Someone behind me went to pass and realized the cop was there so dropped down to the speed limit, which meant we were synchronized. Cop pulled him over for blocking the left lane.
