My dealership straight up told me that my ordered Maverick would get posted on their website even though it was going to be sold to me. Honestly, I could care less. They could post it on Autotrader, Car Gurus, Cars.com, Carvana, CarMax, etc., for all I care. They are likely doing what tons of dealers do…….use customer orders that aren’t really available to get people to come to the lot, hoping to see the vehicle that they saw on the website. Then when they show up, they can try to sell you something else.
Thanks for that. I may be passionate and I may be wrong ,but I dont lie. I joined this site to be able to enjoy my truck and share thoughts with like minded people. I have owned fords since 1979 and they used to be my go to vehicle and it is upsetting when they do not show the same passion to their customers, but hey ,like some say ,its a free market why should we expect loyalty. SadI'm sort of taken aback by the passion here. Those of us who are waiting - patiently or impatiently - for our Mavericks are in the same boat as Kynno. It is fair to say that some of us are fairly frustrated wtihout being "liars" or "entitled children."
The major narrative in these posts tends to be people pissed off at Ford because they ain't got their new wheels. There are some thoughtful responses that put it in perspective. But the fact remains all of us who do not yet have our trucks wish we did.
This is an information site. I've learned a lot by reading posts from those who are more familiar with the process than I, who have never before ordered a custom vehicle of any sort. (I hate to shop; in the past I have walked on the lot, pointed, and bought.) But the flesh pile on Kynno is, well, kind of silly and entitled and unproductive.
Let's share the info and hope we all get our trucks before we die of old age.
He’s right, lots of people on this forum boasted about ordering multiple vehicles at different dealers to take the one that arrived first. That pisses me off that people do that crap, while others orders are pushed back. Same thing happened with Broncos.I hope your'e right,I really do.
True….as they don’t know for sure that you are going to buy it or not until the deal is doneMy dealership straight up told me that my ordered Maverick would be posted on their website even though it was going to be sold to me. EXACTLYTrue….as they don’t know for sure that you are going to buy it or not until the deal is done
Neil, don't waste your thoughts or get caught up with what people say. Someone is always going to have something to say. Just stay true to yourself. Enjoy your Maverick and drive it until the wheels fall off...Thanks for that. I may be passionate and I may be wrong ,but I dont lie. Somebody has to service them including Teslas. GM dealers are servicing some Teslas because Musk doesn't have much of a network. And unless state franchise laws change any manufacturer that currently sells through a dealer will need to continue to do so.I know my city loves car dealers. Since they take up a lot of space, they pay lots in taxes but don't use much services and they employee a lot of people. In my section of the country, many of the dealers are quite well off and politically connected.
Ford does not have much control over them since most are franchises.
I really wonder about the future of dealerships in general. Two of my friend's have had 3 Telsa's and NEVER took them to the dealership. EVER. There are no oil changes and many of the typical things a gas engine has. The only filter is for the AC.
The dealership I bought my Maverick at, my sales guy was a huge Ford nerd, Knew all the specs and details of all vehicles past and present. He seems to be the exception, not the rule.
Are dealerships going to be relevant in the future?
Yes they do. Read the Ford memos to dealers elsewhere on the forum.COVP was not required on 2023 Mavericks.
