Here is my plan, since half of hybrids are not being made. I ordered a hybrid XLT with lux and 360 . I'm to thinking of changing to Ecoboost with awd. I'll try it as if I like it. I would order a 24 hybrid and sell my 23
Any thoughts?

Sounds like a viable plan to me. My only concern would be that I'd expect the 2024 to be significantly more $$$

Don't plan on getting as much in a year and a half for your used. You'll take a hit. Also the hybrid will go up in price. If you are doing the hybrid for the fuel cost savings, this plan will probably eat that savings up for most of the lifespan of the vehicle.

But you do you, and my conjecture could be off. But I doubt it.

If you need the truck sooner it's a good play. You're gonna be waiting a while.

I tailored my eco build to have all the features I wanted while avoiding anything unnecessary that could delay the order. Still took 10 months.

Given that there are unfilled '22 orders you could wind up driving your ecoboost for 2 years before the hybrid comes in.

From what I have been reading you might be good since Ford wants to build those options but EB maverick is a slam dunk. I have an Hybrid XLT with a hitch only. Trying to decide if lux package is worth the add or hope they get more hitches with the orders they don’t make.

your plan seems very reasonable. I can say I love my EB AWD 4K tow!

Don't do it.
You will regret it for the rest of your life.
Hybrids will be hard to get in 2024 also.

I considered the same plan. I have a XLT hybrid order. But in order to keep the price the same which I need too, I would have to drop to the XL with AWD. But then thought good luck even in 2024 to get a hybrid so that means 2025. Plus the high value for used Mav Ecoboost wont last long as they will have Ecoboost on dealer lots this summer at msrp is my bet. So I decided no to the switch. If I don't get my 2023 I might place a 2024 order I figure why not. Then if Toyota has something maybe go that way BUT even that sounds doubtful.

My buddy was told at toyota dealer they cant order a Rav 4 hybrid for over 2 years. So if its that bad for the hybrid rav 4 rather doubtful we will see a new truck from Toyota.

MY personal decision on this would probably depend on the condition of my present vehicle. If you are worried about the cost of potential repairs (possibly for as long as the next two years) and cost of daily driving, I would consider the switch.

You may not get the 23. Ford clearly stated there will be no 23 to 24 rollovers, first in line, like this year. You may be playing the same game for a 24. Hopefully supply constraints will lessen but I think the demand for hybrid will still exceed supply capabilities.

I went on ford chat. they told me my order is in processing and is waiting for scheduling. I'm hoping this is a good sign, i might get my hybrid?

You're going to take such a massive hit on the value of your first truck that you may never make up that loss in gas savings with the hybrid.

Not saying I'm 100% correct, but best I recall "In Processing" doesn't mean much more than, yep we received your order and it's in the system...it could stay at it's current status indefinitely or it might get scheduled tomorrow, next month, next year... sorta up to ford's constraints, dealer allocation, and their rational on what gets built next which doesn't make common sense sometimes. Hope something happens for you soon, best I can suggest is keep your expectations LOW, prepare for a long wait and see what happens, you possibly could get lucky and they exceed expectations.

This is the same message everyone who has a confirmed order gets prior to VIN and scheduling. Basically means no progress... Sorry to be a buzz kill but you deserve honesty.
