another thinking of trading my 22 EB AWD lariat questions

So I have a early 2022 EB AWD Lariat with 4k tow with 77K Km. With the price of gas these days up in canada and going on 11 recalls, plus i just discovered rust on my roof, I am thinking of trading her in for a 2026 mav hybrid AWD 4k tow.

My question is, is there anything stupid on this 2.5 service wise that I need to know? I do all my own oil changes, dif fluids and brakes.

Are the headlights good on the 25/26's as the LED 22-24's?

You will never recover the difference in price from the value loss via gas price. People fell for this in 2008 too. Especially considering the price of lariat hybrid 4k mavs. If you hit 77k in just 4 years you do a decent amount of highway driving, so you're only looking at a 4-5 MPG improvement on the hybrid, it is going to take you hundreds of thousands of miles just to break even, even with $5 a gallon gas. Also factor in higher costs otherwise, in the US hybrid registration is often over twice what gas registration is, here it's $141 a year Vs $53 for gas. Dont know what it is in canada.

the hybrid trans does not need serviced often, but when it does it is not an easy DIY job. Costs a lot more then the ecoboost trans.

I find the headlights comparable. The old lights lied, when on only half were used, they just eliminated the bottom portion that went unused. So it's technically the same lights.

How bad is this rust? If its just a few spots, it will be a LOT cheaper to get that fixed and keep it rolling. Keep in mind that rust is going to heavily ding your trade in value. Most of the recalls are no big deal, a software update at worst 99% of the time.

Also keep in mind that the hybrids still have significant battery charging issues and the hybrids seem to have a lot more minor electrical problems then the boost mavs.

If you want a new truck and can afford it, there are a lot of upsides to full warranty. If the Hybrid is tickling your fancy, have a giggle my friend....

Wait 3 years. Your truck will still be trouble free. Ford will have to make some major improvements in its Maverick line to compete against the Toyota's hybrid small truck and Honda's new ridge line hybrid high MPG truck. 77K Kilometers is still very low "miles/kilometers" for a 300K kilometer truck

I made the switch early 22 fx4 to 25 Lariat, its a different truck, I love the options in the lariat, I used to get 17/30mpg few times got 35mpg on highway, my range was always around 300 miles, had my 22 for 3.5 years, had no were near 11 recalls, didn't do the roof airbags, the lariat gets 30/35 mpg few times 39/40, range at 600/650 with 13gal tank not 17, I always fill-up at half a tank about every 2 weeks and save about 20 bucks a fill-up.
As for power the Hybrid gets the job done, am going to be 75 soon do mostly local driving,
the way I see it you only live once and if you have it spend it, the gas savings is not that important to me I just like having a nice truck my 25 has a black package, 4ktow, AWD and sunroof and I love it, I put a ceramic coating on it and stands out the black paint shines and nothing sticks to it, always looks clean. That being said in 27 am going back to ECO ordering a 27/ 702 Lobo. BTW the first thing I do when I got my trucks was a Ford hood shield, they stick on they protect the hood and looks good, use you points to pay for it, not a mark on my hoods. BTW again if you decide to keep your truck, will the hood shield cover the rust if so its about 150 I think to paint and repair hood could be 300/500
and will never be as good as factory paint job, just touch-up the spots first so it don't travel.
