If I swap in one of these V-16 CAT diesels would I need to add a hood scoop to gain motor clearance?

Polished 150 gallon aluminum fuel tanks and 8" chrome stacks would add some coolness to the Maverick.

I can get a deal since I can pick them up at the factory...

Don’t know about the hood scoop, but would likely need an extra credit card next time you get your Maverick weighed.
May also expect inside tread tire wear.

I did the same swap weeks ago at my local dealership, kept the OEM warranty, even got 3 years of oil changes for free. ;*)

Thanks for the encouragement... since aftermarket motor mounts aren't available for this swap (yet!) I will have to break out the welder, plasma torch and borrow a serious press brake to make the mounts.

I used to own a 1928 Buffalo 50 ton mechanical ironworker but I sold it years ago. It still had the Ford Motor Company tag on it and was an intergral part of building Model A cars at the Pirquette Ave factory in Detroit!

Wish I still owned it!!!

I know the owner of a local fab shop that can help me out.

Running that mod as a generator engine for batteries like Dodge is planning wound give the Maverick a 5000 mile range. Nicely played….
