Thin metal coating peeling on window button

Any one have this happen? 2022 xlt hybrid. Thin metal coating peeling off button. Almost cut finger.

mine did it. i didn't pay enough attention to it till after my bumper to bumper expired. i just cut the metal coating off w a razor blade. maybe i'll get a new switch assy and replace it...

Yes mine did & I just peeled the chrome off that one, it doesn’t bother me enough to replace it though.

Mine also, same switch on the master for right front window. Did not notice until I slightly cut my finger.

Mine peeled as well. It never occurred to me to make a warranty claim.

Our 2020 escape did this at about 3 years old. Ford did a recall but I just peeled the fake chrome crap off.

Maybe related to solvents. When the pandemic hit, my commuter car was a 4 year old Prius. Every time I was in public, like at the grocery store, I would use alcohol hand sanitizer before touching anything in my car, which meant all the plastic bits were in frequent contact with ethanol and methanol, which are really good solvents.

Fast forward 2 years and all the plastic bits in the interior looked like trash. Even the pleather steering wheel was cracking and the surface layer was flaking off. 6 year old interior looked like it was 15-20 years old.
