So do I understand you right... You ordered two Hybrids on 8/4...(and today is 10/12) so just over 2 months to build. But as of today while the info is the truck is built...they have not shipped it out? Any ETA on that?
No. It is in the desert held up by the EPA BS. It has even shown up on my ford account as available to activate...just need to be in front of it. ETA from Ford or the EPA is less than nothing. Just the clucking of the hens on hear passing rumors around like herpes at an eminem concert.

Hope they cover them rather than just let them bake in the hot Mexico sun!

Ford can't deliver any hybrids until EPA [or whatever] approves it. Last I heard it is believed to be 12/8/21. Is that still correct???

13 month wait.
Hahaha! I wish I could go back to when my truck was only going to take 3 months to get. I waited 8 for mine.

come again? Last I checked the battery is a $5k part, almost 25% of the vehicles cost. The hybrid still has an engine and associated parts. it also eschews engine belt drive powered aux systems (AC, pumps etc) for systems that are powered on the HVB, those aux systems tend to be twice what the engine belt powered components are.

I doubt Ford is making much if any money from the sale of a XL or XLT hybrid. What a sale is doing is letting them reduce the carbon credits they need to buy while also stealing customers from other brands, in the hope that those customers move on to more expensive Ford products.
$5,000 for a 1.1 KwH battery. My Model Y 75 KwH battery costs just twice that much but has 68 times as much capacity which is equivalent to roughly $137 per KwH. Tesla has a head start, that's for sure. Plus, all the Teslas sold in the US are made in the US! ... But, I'm still ordering a Maveric next week!

Not sure why you are comparing used/rebuilt batteries when we are talking about the Fords costs, including R&D, marketing etc etc for NEW battery systems delivered in a NEW vehicle.

Retail encompasses the total manufacturing/R&D marketing etc costs, plus typically around a 6ish% profit. Auto manufacturers margins tend to be fairly low. Having worked in the industry I have seen this first hand. Would love to know where "heavily inflated" ideas are coming from. I have seen parts where literally a penny per part determined if it was profitable to make or not.
I thought the battery was straight from the Escape.

First of all, this is a one year old thread people...

Its called a loss leader and it definitely happens in the auto industry. Maverick is one of the best values on the market as a result, even with the 2023 price increases.

Yeah its about $5k to replace an escape battery, about $2k if you get a refurb.

You are on a tangent with this stuff.
The 2021 RAV4 hybrid I had and drove for 12,000 miles worked the exact same way as my Maverick hybrid, and the m.p.g. of the two vehicles is identical. I had the base LE RAV4 and it was 6 grand more than my nicely equipped Maverick XLT.

Ouch! I'm hoping that when the 2023 info gets released, there's a bit bigger EV battery than that 1.1 and perhaps even a 10-20 KWH battery... Offering a plug-in hybrid version would be outstanding. I just have an 8 mile drive to work.

You clearly do not understand how these hybrids works, I suggest you go educate yourself on the subject before you act like a know it all. Seriously, one of the least informed comments I have seen on this forum (and thats saying something).
