The Train Ride from Hermosillo to NorCal: How long?

I've been trying to track my Mav based on some information from a year or so ago. The Union Pacific phone tree has not been accommodating.
Two days ago it was in Tucson. The next stop should be Riverside, then Richmond, where it will sit until a semi hauls it to Sonoma County.
Is there any sense on how long that migration will take? Is there any new information on stalking the train? How does one figure out the number of the train car?

How does one figure out the number of the train car?

Ask your dealer to send you a snapshot of the VinView Status page. That will show the Railcar Number.

Train tracking via phone from Union Pacific, CSX and Norfolk Southern is now almost completely useless.

CSX and Norfolk Southern trace only gives railcar location as of the last delivery. For my railcar they stated that it was delivered in either Ohio or Indiana and in the past like June or July.

Only Union Pacific was semi-useful. Their trace never said where the railcar was but did give updates on current arrival/departure date and time and an estimate on arrival at the final rail yard. The estimate on arrival at the final railyard was pretty accurate and only varied by 12 hours from the actual arrival time.

For my 2023 Maverick it only took a total of 10 days from shipping at the Hermosillo Plant to my dealership AutoNation Ford Frisco.

My Maverick took almost four weeks to make it to Richmond CA. It went to Nebraska first for some reason.

A railroad tracking will not be updated until they see the car appear on their railroad then some will follow to final destination most will not. A shown delivery in the past occurred when they had possession of car.

Two weeks from Hermosillo to dealer in Butte County. Much faster than expected. I called Ford several times and they were able to give me a somewhat accurate update. I knew it was in Richmond before my dealer.

Mine took a similar path but towards the South Bay. ‘Shipped’ email 8/8, dealer call 8/19.

For railcar number, I believe I logged into Ford.com and chatted with support mentioning I wanted info on the railcar number so I wouldn’t be out of town around that time. Info was provided, no issue.

In another thread I posted this, based on some prior posts. This seemed to follow my rail number pretty accurately. I had been trying UP but got old info that was inaccurate.
For whatever reason, I had to call CSX instead. Thread below mentions all 3 rail, this is what I did CSX:

1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352

2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1"

3. When prompted for the car initials, press the number that the letter falls under, but THEN press the number that the letter falls in line. Example, SFLC=“74 33 53 23” (7 for S, fourth letter on that keypad. 3 for F, third letter. 5 for L, third letter. 2 for C, third letter) then #.

4. When prompted, enter your car number like 907048 then press #. When prompted to enter additional cars, press ##. Enjoy your updated status report.

5. Optional: press 1 to hear the results again

6. Hang up once finished

Mine took about 2 weeks to Sonoma County Dealer (arrived last Feb - see my tag).
Ford customer service could see when it moved from AZ to CA.
They were very nice on phone.

On March 15, they built it. On March 25 the dealer in the Milwaukee area let me know it had arrived.

Mine was shipped on 09/06/23. Just arrived at the dealer today. I am in Bluffton South Carolina.
Shipping time was 19 days
