Fordpass Remote start stopped working?

I have the opposite issue, I can remote start from my phone (takes a while, about thirty seconds) but my keys remote start doesn't work, I just get a longer red light when I double click the remote start button along with some "whirring" noises from the car but the lights or engine don't turn on. I'll try the battery disconnect trick and see what happens

Weird! I was afraid I fried something in the car wash due to the steam coming off the radiator. Just remote started again and is smooth as ever.

I don't have any trust in this thing second time it happened how come we can't have a regular remote start like everyone else

I paid for the Lariat/Lux to get features like a key FOB remote start because you never know when an app will just not work, stop being supported or a cellular upgrade takes away connectivity 3G-5G- ETC

Now that sounds dangerous.. First I heard that happening but you should report to NHTSA. That one can be a killer if in a garage.

It hasn't done it since thankfully. Its been about 6k miles since it initially happened.

Definitely, at one point I also had two trucks on the Fordpass app and sometimes when I'd try to start one it would start the wrong one instead.

Did you ever send the ford rep your VIN? You could really help them and every mav owner by letting them dig into it further.

Hi!

This morning I got up to start my Maverick with my Iphone like I normally do while I get ready and it wouldn't start. I could unlock and lock the doors but it kept popping up with blinking red symbol on the app and said "vehicle failed to start". I went outside and was able to start it just fine with the key. I've been driving around today and still could not get it to remote start. I opened the hood knowing that it wouldn't start anyways and got some noise like the fuel pump engaging then nothing like a crank. Once again starts up perfect with the key.

The only thing I can think of that could possibly do anything was that I went through the carwash yesterday and when I parked and shut the truck off it turned itself back on randomly then acted fine. I have the Fx4 package so I have the skid plate to protect the bottom of the engine during the underbody wash.

The troubleshooting steps I tried are:

-Restarting my phone and the Ford pass app
-Removing and adding the Fordpass App
-Removed and added my vehicle in ford pass
-Reset Fordpass connect, and turned on and off remote start on the dash menu.

Does anyone know what could be causing this or possible remedy? I may disconnect the battery for a minute and reconnect to see if that resets anything like a fail-safe but looking for other ideas first before making an appointment.

My maverick is at dealer, several weeks now, I will keep u posted it. Take ur maverick into dealer to get software update. Also an engine fire recall coming

Thank you for the advice, now that i know i have to take it anyway for saftey recall im just gonna make time an take it .id appreciate it if u keep me posted in what they tell u .im really curious ! I mean you described the exact thing that happened to me .the truck starting all by itself at random an then never works again! Makes u wonder if someones is tampering with there online server that hosts the autostart from app! Its just a thought but totally possible!anyways thank u an hope u have a great jul 4th! 🫡
