The backup camera is useless when the tailgate is down. Is there a solution?

Is there a Ford OEM or aftermarket auxiliary backup camera for use when the tailgate is down? Every time I go to the transfer station!

Is that not normal on a truck? every truck i've ever driven with a backup camera had it on the tailgate... and was useless with it down.

There are wireless magnetic"trailer cams" listed on Amazon.

I use a cheap $23 wifi dashcam powered by USB in my bed. Also works great as a doggie cam. I have it on a magnetic mount.

Before, it was easier to see out the back of things, and also vehicles were lower to the ground.

In the USA backup cameras are mandatory in all cars/trucks under 10k lbs including the F350 since 2018.

Sorry you didn't say anything about the tailgate being down as the backup camera is physically on the tailgate...sorry for my confusion.
