Wiith the onset of winter the tire pressure needs to be adjusted. I usually use my trusty tire gauge but I thought I would try the new fangled gaugescon the dash screen.

So I set all four tires to 35 psi. Great. After driving one city block each tire now registers a different pressure... 28 psi to 37 psi.

After sitting overnight they change pressure again.

Fail.

And don't get me started on my non functioning Ford Pass remote start. Or the remote start on the key fob.

Another fail.

And trying to decipher the owners manual is above my pay grade.

Geesh...

The TPMS is for alerting you of a flat tire (for which they work great). They should not be trusted for accurate measurement. Always inflate when cold as driving the truck will warm up the tires and thus increase the pressure. That is accounted for in the "inflate while cold" number.

As for the remote start, sounds like a fuse issue. I use an aftermarket remote start and never have any issues with it or the FordPass version. And I only drive my truck about once a week.

25 manual. Just too inaccurate for at the moment fillups.
Mine are within 1/2 PSI of what I measured with - with rounding that means sometimes they display a match, sometimes they don't.

INFLATING THE TIRES

Ford Maverick Technology Rant {filename}
WARNING: Under-inflation is the most common cause of tire failures and may result in severe tire cracking, tread separation or blowout, with unexpected loss of vehicle control and increased risk of injury. Under-inflation increases sidewall flexing and rolling resistance, resulting in heat buildup and internal damage to the tire. It also may result in unnecessary tire stress, irregular wear, loss of vehicle control and accidents. A tire can lose up to half of its air pressure and not appear to be flat!
Ford Maverick Technology Rant {filename}
WARNING: Do not use the tire pressure displayed in the information display as a tire pressure gauge. Failure to follow this instruction could result in personal injury or death.

Just use your "trusty tire gauge" and eliminate all this mental anguish.

Ford warns against using the tpms display for setting tire pressures. They take some time to display correctly.

fob has never failed me
- push lock 2x then start 2x -
Vroom Vroooom ;)

Cheers
Well mine does not... I guess I'll revisit the tech expert at my dealer again

But different years have different capabilities... just as an XLT may have a different remote than a fancier trim level truck.

Another dumb move IMHO

I will totally agree on the Owner's Manual. Worst manual I have ever encountered....

Another drivers changed my headlight setting, so looked in the manual to review settings. I've always called them "headlights", but Maverick manual calls then "Light LAMPS". Even used "Google" to find the name of lights on the front of a vehicle"...and Google agrees with me, they are called HEADLIGHTS.

Finally found "Light Lamps" and first topic covered was cause of "condensation" of in Lamps. Lists the "headlight" option setting but takes you into 4 pages of "mombo jumbo" to explain the simple 4 headlight settings, when the driver is looking for a quick, simple, summary answer.

I found this throughout the manual...very confusing instructions and part of the cause is trying to cover the hybrid and turbo version options in the same manual.

Regarding tire pressure changing. Solved most of this problem by buying tires from Costco.

I've changed my tires from stock to snows and back 4 times now and checked them and they've always been okay. Well, Discount Tire did it and I checked afterwards. Checked in the summer when I got a new gauge.

You need to get a decent gauge like a Jaco digital, or even a Merlin from HF to set the tire pressures if you really want them to be +/- 0.5 psi static. As others have mentioned the TPMS sensors are just to alert drivers of a critically low tire. I have wondered though if higher end portable inflators have reached that level of accuracy (the first one I tried was off by 2-3 psi), so you can inflate and set the pressure in one step.

Auto headlights. My 22 automatically dim below 25 mph and go back to high beam at 30-35 mph. So when I slow down say looking for a driveway and need bright lights they automatically dim, or you slow down around a corner and then you can not see as well, really dumb and unsafe. Anyone else find this annoying and unsafe? Never seen a thread on this. Is there a way to change this?
