Like the extra push down wheels on a cement truck.

I've seen people at track days towing similar trailers behind their Miatas, Porsches etc to haul their track tires & tools

Probably simplest and cheapest for the DIY'er vs. have some gas or hydraulic shocks.

A fun project I'll probably never do.

I learned about this on Jay Leno's Garage.

In 1979-1980 Briggs & Stratton had a hybrid station wagon.

Had an 18 horsepower engine. Could do highway speeds. Weighed 3200lbs.
Unfortunately all they had was lead-acid batteries.

Necessitated tandem rear axles.
All in 1979.
It still drives today. Jay drove it

Seems like it'd be one bump in the road away from experiencing uncontrollable trailer sway. Trailers are longer than they are wide partly for towing stability.

Freedom is for 5th wheel trailers. And in itself costs more than my travel trailer.

It's wider than the car, so backing up is doable. I once towed a Motorcycle trailer behind an HHR Panel. Couldn't see it until it was almost jack knifed. I had to add plow guides to the sides so I could see it in the mirror.
