What's with all the hate on ethanol? A lot of people making a lot of power on E, turbos love it. The issues come WHEN YOU LET IT SIT AND DON'T USE IT. Not when you are using it regularly. Paying more for nothing imo

Avg 28mpg on back roads (sport mode) and 32 highway. I drive 20 miles to work every day on 45mph limit back roads and take probably 6 or so trips to my cabin 300 miles away a year. Regular 93 and mix in a 91 or 89 on occasion in the winter.

My 2024 AWD Ecoboost Lariat is a few weeks away from being one year in my possession and is sitting with 12,200 miles on the clock.
It runs perfectly, loves Ethanol Free 93 octane and I like to go fast. I also like its power, I use it often just for shits and giggles.
I never punch it, I use lots of throttle when ever I please but always mash the pedal like there is an egg under my toes and I don’t want to break it.

My one year average mpg is 26 mostly on Appalachian mountain roads. Plus maybe 20% small town traffic, or less.
Out on the interstate, on flat land I can average 30 mpg regularly.

For the last few weeks I’ve started driving it like I think most hybrid guys drive.
Not getting in peoples way, not creeping in the right lane five under the speed limit but going no more than five mph over the posted limit.
I don’t ever tailgate and I’m very good at reading the road for maximum roll ability.
I’m cementing an average mpg of 29 over the last four weeks.

Get this !
WITH my cold morning warm ups of 10-15 minutes about four days a week.

This pleases me. If I had a 15 mpg truck I’d be fine and able to afford the fuel but I’m very glad I don’t have a ā€˜Cowboy Caddilac’.

My question ?

Are there many Ecoboost drivers that are averaging 29 mpg or better ?
I don’t mean over a few tanks I mean like over 10,000 miles ?
I just reset trip meter two for the first time since new.

Inquiring minds wants to know the truth. No high mileage bragging !
The Hybrid guys own that hands down.
I get about 30.2 on the highway doing 65 mph and I have an ecboost engine as well.

I'm getting about 27 on my 2023. I've got 37k miles on it. The 27 is based on the fuel economy indicator. About 2/3 of my driving is local. I've taken 2 trips of about 4k miles each. I'm in Florida, so most of my local driving is flat.

Wish I had ethanol free around me! No such luck. Mind you, regular 87 octane just went down $1.43.9 per LITRE. Big Whoop!
OUCH... Going to be an expensive winter snowmobiling in Canada this year. Paying $2.729 per Gal at BJ's here in Central MA for 87. My calculations show that your $1.439 per liter comes to $3.921 per gal (us$)... My snowmobile takes premium... No clue what that will cost... Ouch, Ouch, Ouch... Going to be an expensive Gaspe Loop trip this year. lol

When I drive my wife's ecoboost I routinely average over 30 mpg. I have seen as high as 36 mpg. My wife drives more aggressively and averages high 20,s.

After 6000 miles, about 27 mpg. Although I drive like I stole it! Always amazed about the power of this tiny little motor! I tell my wife it’s the truck of the year, and she says, yes you told me that alreadyšŸ˜Ž

In the summer using ethanol free 90 I average 30.4 on my ecoboost in city and country driving consistently. In the winter I switch over to 87 octane because it does better than the 90 in cold weather for me. I have 22,500 miles and average 28.9 for the life of the vehicle so far since November 2024.

I average 27mpg on my thrice weekly 80 mile round trip to Whistler. I live at sea-level and the base of Whistler is 2,000 ft above sea-level. I'm happy with 27 mph. I drive a 24 Tremor with the Falcon Wildpeak tyres.

For what it is worth, I am retired and gas milage doesn't mean a lot to me.

I have 14k on mine in 17 months of ownership... This is it's second winter and I'm getting 28.6 over that time. I have trip one which I reset the day I drove it off the lot and haven't touched it and that's what it shows over the 14,000 mi. Trip 2 I reset after every tank.

When I read these kinds of posts here I can't help but wonder about all the differences. I'm still early in my ownership at about 2500 miles on my 24 MY Tremor but it takes a very focused effort for me to even hang around 22 mpg. Maybe that's the Tremor or the mostly suburban grocery runs but I'm also in that "egg on the pedal" camp but I don't get anything close to what I see some post about here. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Thanks. I’m a little scared. Got a paper route when I was 10 and was never once unemployed since then. Hopefully the grandkids keep me occupied.

Mostly suburban grocery runs will do it. EB really shines on the highway.

I get about 30.2 on the highway doing 65 mph and I have an ecboost engine as well.
I can get that with mine as well on the highway going 65 mph but the driving I do 23.6 MPG over 4,100 miles. To be honest I probably haven't driven 100 highway miles in those 4,100 miles.

In this whole thread, never read a word about tire pressure.
Bring it up to a bit above 40 (cold reading, before getting underway).
Promise, you’ll be amazed.
