In this whole thread, never read a word about tire pressure.
Bring it up to a bit above 40 (cold reading, before getting underway).
Promise, you’ll be amazed.
I run a cold reading of 35 psi just like it says to on my door data plate. In doing this I get even tread wear across the tire per my tire tread depth gage. When they get hot psi goes up 3 in the winter, 4 in the summer.
When I go to 235 wides I’ll prolly do 34 psi cold.
Anymore and my tires wear wrong.

Driven in a straight line, with higher pressure, the center will wear considerably more than the outer edges.
“Spirited” driving on the twisties evens it out.
Over time, this will result in higher MPG’s, longer lasting tires, and better handling.
Pretend you’re riding a bike. Go around the flaws on the roadsurface.

Spirited driving in the twisties evens mine out at door data plate cold tire recommend psi.
Prolly because I rotate every 5,000 miles when I do an oil service.

OK. We can leave tire wear to another thread.
But, you started this thread about MPG’s.
Higher pressure leads to less rolling resistance, which leads to better MPG’s.
To each his own.

Probably some math in there for fuel saved vs tires bought sooner.

At 5,000 miles, it’s been a steady 24.8. I use regular gas and leave it in normal. And I drive it in Philadelphia rush hour traffic without babying it. I’m retiring in two weeks; we’ll see if it changes.
I’m about 3800 mi. 24mpg is my norm when I called the dealer, they stressed the break-in period is 5-6000 mi. I’m patently waiting for the improved gas mileage.

When I read these kinds of posts here I can't help but wonder about all the differences. I'm still early in my ownership at about 2500 miles on my 24 MY Tremor but it takes a very focused effort for me to even hang around 22 mpg. Maybe that's the Tremor or the mostly suburban grocery runs but I'm also in that "egg on the pedal" camp but I don't get anything close to what I see some post about here. 🤷‍♂️
Me too. I average 22.5 in the winter, mix of city highway, goes up to 23.5 in the summer. On a trip, all highway, in ECO, I've touched 28 once, normally 26.5.

Now there are reasons. Mine is an FX4 with 4k. The 4k has different gearing. Also, I put on 245/65/17 Cooper Road and Trail AT tires right away. Taller, wider, and a bit heavier. They are not as heavy as some, but they probably ding the mileage by 1-2 mpgs.

Still, I knew this going in and for me the tradeoff is worth it. BTW, I did go in with Forscan and entered the Tremor size (235) so the the one size is within 3% for the speedo and computer.

I played with Forscan and made some adjustments as well including trying to turn on ECO mode, which is not an option in the Tremor, but I wasn't able to figure out how to make it work. I didn't think about a difference in gearing. 4k isn't an option with the Tremor but maybe gearing is part of the explanation for my mileage as well.

I'm not complaining about my mileage, just curious about the vast differences I see here. Knowing what I know now about life with my Tremor, the only other configuration I might have been interested in would have been the FX4 with 4k (and then maybe I would have put the lift on afterward) so it sounds like I would likely be getting similar mileage anyway.

My 2024 AWD Ecoboost Lariat is a few weeks away from being one year in my possession and is sitting with 12,200 miles on the clock.
It runs perfectly, loves Ethanol Free 93 octane and I like to go fast. I also like its power, I use it often just for shits and giggles.
I never punch it, I use lots of throttle when ever I please but always mash the pedal like there is an egg under my toes and I don’t want to break it.

My one year average mpg is 26 mostly on Appalachian mountain roads. Plus maybe 20% small town traffic, or less.
Out on the interstate, on flat land I can average 30 mpg regularly.

For the last few weeks I’ve started driving it like I think most hybrid guys drive.
Not getting in peoples way, not creeping in the right lane five under the speed limit but going no more than five mph over the posted limit.
I don’t ever tailgate and I’m very good at reading the road for maximum roll ability.
I’m cementing an average mpg of 29 over the last four weeks.

Get this !
WITH my cold morning warm ups of 10-15 minutes about four days a week.

This pleases me. If I had a 15 mpg truck I’d be fine and able to afford the fuel but I’m very glad I don’t have a ‘Cowboy Caddilac’.

My question ?

Are there many Ecoboost drivers that are averaging 29 mpg or better ?
I don’t mean over a few tanks I mean like over 10,000 miles ?
I just reset trip meter two for the first time since new.

Inquiring minds wants to know the truth. No high mileage bragging !
The Hybrid guys own that hands down.

I'm on my third tank of gas in a 25 ecoboost Lariat averaging 24 so far by my math.

That’s good especially if you see city traffic.
My mpg numbers are all achieved mainly because I live near a small town. I have practically no traffic ever, except when there’s a wreck on the four lane.
Twenty minute back up, averaging once every few months.

It took my Ecoboost about 6,000 miles before it felt, ‘Broken In’
Took mine about a thousand before the truck learned me.

Check your mpg’s the old fashion way, over about 10 tanks. While your computer gets your dashboard mpg’s worked out.

Sitting at 11,287 miles after eight months of ownership. Getting around 30MPG unloaded and 28-29MPG when hauling my dirt bike to races on the weekends. The weekend race trips account for the majority of my mileage. I work in town, so during the week I only drive 50-60 miles total back and forth to the office. So far I'm very pleased as my previous truck, a 2012 Nissan Frontier with the 4.0 V6, averaged 19MPG!

At your first oil change get a load of Full synthetic in there. It’s slicker. That alone should be worth a .5 mpg gain.
