Tailgate Liner (Newbie Post)

Picked up my Maverick on Sunday and have been laying out what I need for it and I know I need a tailgate liner (I ordered a bed mat and will add a tonneau cover)...

What is the best tailgate liner out there?

Lots of opinons out there so I will chime in. If you can, spring for spray-in like LineX. I used Rhino years ago on my 2006 GMC Canyon and it was good to.

It dosn't allow moisture under it, it acts as sound deadener and is a tough surface when using the bed like a truck.

Show your LineX or Rhino dealer that Ford charges $495. It is only a 4'6" bed. Ask if they will match the price. Offer cash as an incentive. Most of the cost goes in prep and labor. Don't try to do it yourself with spray cans.

The one for @$80 from accessories.ford.com is a great choice; torx bolts that you remove are T30 I think and the ones that come with it are T25 I think. Anyway, just be prepared when you install it that you have correct torx on hand; and save the old ones because you never know when you need them. Installation is a breeze; nice fit, looks nice, and you can use your points to get it.
Doesn't interfere with tonneau cover either

I like the DeeZee #87027 rubber bed mat because it fits perfectly, keeps cargo from sliding around and is easily removable for cleaning. I then added the TrailFX Tailgate Liner #RFMA22TG to protect the tailgate surface. This is vacuum or blow molded from sheet stock, and hand-trimmed, so the fit is only so-so but it does the job and was pretty cheap.

Not sure about brands... but the decision for spray in v drop in - for the Mav spray in wins hands down. The drop in is only better for a huge bed where you need to slide things across the surface, like sending a tool box towards the cab or a large heavy object, refrigerator etc. Spray in, cargo will not slide nearly as easily. With the man's small bed you do not need slide capability. I have had both over the past 20 years
