Tailgate Ladder experience?

Useless with the tailgate down though.

I found to keep the reverse camera alarm from going off mount it in either of the last 2 pin holes. Keeps completely out of the way of the tailgate!

Some folks get to an age where it becomes difficult to step up or down that little distance. Age is real.

So true, I’m eat up with arthritis in entire back and knees, the sole reason I went a bought the maverick instead of getting in/out of the f150, folks don’t understand until it hits them one day, then you moan and swear a lot

Was not aware they had them for Mavericks. What would be the point of it? I traded off a Silverado with the corner step, best idea Chevy ever had, which I needed to get in the bed with the tailgate up or down. The Maverick I just leave the tailgate closed, step on the bumper and step over. Not sure why you would use the ladder.

This is available from a number of sources. I was wondering if anyone installed one and if they had any problems with it. It looks to be a pretty good way of getting into the bed if you are as old as dirt as I am or handicapped or otherwise infirmed. I assume that you are none of those so stepping on the bumper and over the tailgate is not a problem, at least not now.

Giving it some thought.
The only problem I see with that ladder is, that if you leave it attached it's always in the way when you lower the tailgate and you try to pull something out.
I guess you could disconnect it and stow it, each time, but then the attaching base plate is still stuck in the way on the tailgate.

I keep a two step, step stool in the bed and it is a big help.

I see no advantage to using that. To use it the tailgate is closed. The bumper is what 2" higher?

When you get old that 2" less step-up means ALOT! also it is a wider better footing that the bumper. To each their own!

I guess I’m the only one that has actually mounted a tailgate ladder in their Maverick. For a long time, I had been procrastinating on undergoing the first of two total hip replacements. Getting into my truck bed was a painful process. I chose the ladder as a permanent option to deal with my lack of range of motion. I find my ladder offers a solid footing and can be used either directly to the rear of the tailgate or to the side. When needing to slide cargo into the bed it is a simple matter of undoing one strap buckle and rotating the ladder out of the way. I am currently recovering from the first hip surgery. At times, when fatigued or on uneven ground, I’ll carry a cane. I can use it as a third point of contact if I feel unsteady using my ladder. I don’t regret the purchase or installation. I would do it again. Now, I’m waiting on my nerf bars!

Nope. I have one of these, but it's more for rear end protection. I wouldn't trust that little ladder. I am 320#.
