Multi-position ladder fit?

I’m looking to get a maverick to save the miles on my F150 for my home inspection business. Anyone see what size gorilla multi-position ladder will fit in the bed or across the rear seats? The MPX18 is supposed to be 55” and the bed is 54”. So I’m thinking that won’t fit. Any real world testers out there?

I have a ladder that fold up like an accordian. Kind of like this one:

Not sure if this would be useful for you due to the type of work you do, but it would fit.

I just measured the diagonal, from the lower-front corner to the inside-top of the tailgate, at 57-3/4". I bet it will fit.

How about from rear door to door? Maybe it'll go across the back with the rear seats folded. I have a 22 gorilla and it's a tight fit in my F150's 5.5, I was hoping the 18 would be a go. I need as much length as I can to help get on roofs.

Likely will work friend offered his and said it would fit in the bed of my truck. I declined those folding type pinch fingers and I can't bring myself to trust the technology.

I like the Gorilla better than the telescoping ones. No pinching and solid spring loaded locking mechanisms. It's just the 5.5' long one won't fit for sure, so I'll shop for a smaller one. I am looking forward to packing the miles on a Maverick over my Tremor f150 though. Double the fuel mileage too.

I've been using an old Gorilla Ladder that was a 17-foot multi-position. It fit, and I mean barely fit. You had to force the tailgate closed, and that was only after disengaging the side rails. I just added another Maverick to my fleet and need another ladder. My Gorilla was an older model, and I was unable to find the exact same one in the local classifieds. The new ones appear to be an inch or two taller than the old model. I searched the web and determined that one on Amazon may work. It has stabilizing bars that looked like you could slide them in only when you needed them. After getting the ladder, I can confirm it fits with roughly 2 inches of clearance. I tossed the stabilizing bars on the side so I can slide them in when I need them.

Here are some pictures. If you left the stabilizing bars in permanently it would be quite wide. I’d probably cut them down if I were to leave them on permanently.

Have you considered an over cab rack? Then you could get whatever ladder you needed and still have plenty of bed space
.

I have the Little Giant 17’ ladder and it fits diagonally or tilted up at angle. even with the up-tilt position I can still close my trifold cover.

For the win if you want to look like a work truck at the same time. You could also open the tailgate and strap it to the bed like I do with my 10 ft ladder.

As far as multi position ladders goes I have a 17 ft harborfreight special I bought years ago when you could still get them under $100. It will just fit in the truck bed, Ladder when fully folded is 54 inches long. The truck bed is 54.4 inches long.
