What would it take to determine no internal damage was done to the tranny?
There's no way an accident like this didn't damage the transaxle. With how that front suspension is collapsed, the CV axle would've acted like a punch and destroyed the bearings.

That's what I assumed and why I asked about procedure to determine what condition was.

Likely totaled. Hope you did not sustain any injuries. I would focus all my effort on going after this driver and building a case. Maybe hire an attorney if need be.

My insurance won't fix it but I want to fix it.
You say they won't fix it, but does that mean they are denying the claim, or just that they have deemed the vehicle totaled? If the latter, given the scale of damages, I would trust their judgement on this one, take their money and go find another truck. Don't worry about the other guy's insurance claiming they won't pay: Your insurance company will go after them to claw back as much of the money they paid you as possible and they are much better prepared to handle the task than you are. My son in law recently went through something similar and the other guy's insurance told him they wouldn't pay. They caved as soon as his insurance reached out with a copy of the police report and ended up covering everything.

You are claiming: Maverick had a green arrow and other driver had a red light, so Maverick had the right of way to cross the oncoming lane (to make the left turn) and the other driver ran the red light.

Other driver is claiming: both vehicles had a green light, but Maverick failed to yield and made a left hand turn in front of the other driver's oncoming vehicle.

If this is correct, you are going to need video or witness statements to prove your case that the other driver was at fault. Absent proof or admission of other driver running the red light, insurance will find YOU at fault.

Good grief! The day you bought it?! I'm so sorry.
Hopefully, your insurance will go after the other guy.

Good advice. You're right; let the insurance company go after the other guy. They have attorneys on standby.

PS The guy who t-boned didn't confess and lied to the police (he said: I passed when I didn't have a green arrow). So he's insurance won't pay for it.
TThat's what courts are for. If you are serious, hire a lawyer.

I have used this dash cam for over a year now. Highly recommend it. Easy to setup.
I transfer this dash cam to whatever vehicle I am driving, easy enough.
I had a different cheaper dash cam and it has since stopped working.

My Maverick is currently being repaired for what was mostly just the front passenger fender was crushed but it's in limbo and has been for the last month and half because the Front Fender Bracket ( part NZ6Z16C198A ) is and appears to have been on National Back Order. So, I don't think you want to try and fix it unless it's a side project.

I also don't know how helpful a dash cam would have been based on my understanding. No one is contesting who hit who, and if the other claim is you both had green lights then unless you get something showing his light was red it wouldn't help. Also with 180 degree view of view you would get the side but how much would that help record a side impact?

Market value will be higher than sticker. Get the Market value for the truck. Let it go. Side hits are a PITA.

IF there was a dashcam showing Mav driver had green light, it would be up to the other driver to prove against the city or whoever that their light was green also. It just doesn't happen.

Unibody frame is not cost efficient to fix. Throws of all alignment. This design makes them a solid/smooth ride, but a total loss after crashes.
