They had to use all that outdated stuff they recieved after it all being backordered during covid. What better way than to put itin a very low cost low budget truck.Shame on ford for giving us the outdated tech on a brand new truck
That isn't true for sync2. 5 / Ford Connected Audio. Articles from 2021 clearly state that Ford developed it themselves to save cost. It's completely separate code from sync 2 or 3, and it was always going to be in the non B&O Mavericks. They had to use all that outdated stuff they recieved after it all being backordered during covid. What better way than to put itin a very low cost low budget truck.
Did you miss the word 'budget' in your own post? They had to use all that outdated stuff they recieved after it all being backordered during covid. What better way than to put itin a very low cost low budget truck.
People for this get, they want cheap, but complain that it is missing the latest tech..Did you miss the word 'budget' in your own post?
You don't make 'budget' versions of anything by putting the latest tech in it.
There are a few modules that you need, brackets and a harness. I know a couple of people have done it, it was roughly $600 to total, not worth it in my booksHas anyone else developed this project today?

I am currently in the item gathering and harness building process, but yes I think I can.Thanks!.
Could you do it?
I'm about to start working on that. I'm afraid something will go wrong...I am currently in the item gathering and harness building process, but yes I think I can.
I would love to just add sync 3 to my Xlt! Should have been equipped from factory! So I figured I would go ahead and start this thread. @propp2531 and I have been working in the background on the potential of swapping Sync 4 into our trucks. Non Sync 3 Maverick systems present a challenge since an APIM does not actually exist as a separate module. The screen and software are run directly from the ACM. This means an adapter harness must be made to add in the required APIM and the ACM has to be swapped for a sync 3 based ACM. Thankfully that is fairly easy with passthrough harnesses existing for the ACM and all of the required leads for the APIM connector exist on the OEM ACM wiring.

And for those wondering, this method would also work to add Sync 3 to non Sync 3 systems. Programming of Sync 3 would also be much easier, but where is the fun in that!
Is there a procedure laid out to just add sync 3? I’d like to add sync 3 with SiriusXM/hd radio to my Xlt… the way it should’ve come from factory…So I figured I would go ahead and start this thread. @propp2531 and I have been working in the background on the potential of swapping Sync 4 into our trucks. Does anyone know if this file still exists elsewhere? Google says its no longer there. Not surprised 4+ years after
