Gotcha..ok, I'm not so tech savvy, I just going off what I saw, which was steller.
Ok perhaps this sync 4 may be in the future.
After is spent a few hours with sync 4 then put my old radio back in I was thinking “this looks like shit” compared to what I was just looking at.
As for being tech savvy. This isn’t hard outside of the wiring which I couldn’t figure out and @zackmd1 did. Other than that it’s just plugging new components in and then data entry in forscan.

Sync 4 configured! Only thing I wasn't able to get functional was 911 assist since Sync 4 doesn't want to play nice with our RCM. Ill let @propp2531 replicate my results and then I will begin posting the revenant info for everyone.

Did you get wireless CarPlay to work?

I believe he did, he was having issues with XM which has been fixed.

Yes that was wireless CarPlay in the video. Key to getting it working was getting wireless app projection working.

This is great! Once you share the directions and parts needed....what's a good estimate of what this DIY upgrade would cost?

Ok so after alot of testing/trial and error over the weekend, I think I can safely say I have Sync 4 working perfectly in the Maverick. Only Sync 4 features not working are Wifi (OTA updates) and Nav. I can enable wifi but it doesn't see any wifi networks and breaks wireless CarPlay and Android Auto so I'm leaving Wifi disabled for now. Nav was expected not to work since its subscription based. Maps and location do work however and with wireless CarPlay its not an issue at all. Sirius XM works great (although my antenna placement could use some work) and the ACM runs everything just fine. Also managed to configure it such that everything is happy and no DTCs are present. Sync 4 even communicates with our TCUs so FordPass works just like OEM with vehicle data and everything.

Sync 4 is SO MUCH BETTER then OEM Sync 2.5.... Even something small and insignificant like the rear camera works much better. The rear camera with Sync 4 runs at a higher framerate then Sync 2.5 so its much smoother not to mention clearer. All told, I believe someone could do this swap for under $500. Like I said before, Ill let @propp2531 finish his swap just to make sure he can replicate my results and then Ill begin editing the OP with all the details on how to complete this.

Zack this is awesome, I'm not more interested in Wireless Car Play than XM. Also, have you tried to install the charging pad?

The wireless charging pad is crazy expensive from Ford and none have popped on eBay yet so I haven’t tried yet. The wiring would be easy. Mounting it might require a new console…

Ok after finally getting some time to work on this I can confirm this 100% works. Backup camera, Fordpass app, wireless carplay, siriusxm etc. The only thing I have an issue with is the FX4 screen wont display audio information of what is playing when tuned to sirius. that is not a deal breaker for me but just something that needs to be sorted out. Other than that thanks to @zackmd1 the sync 4 system works like a dream. The fact that it all works and i can still remote start is just awesome.

Making this 1 puts sirisu in the instrument cluster.

So if we don't XM, what does one have to do to get Wireless Car Play to work?

Great Work fellas!

how much nicer is sync 4 compared to sync 3? doubting this upgrade would be worthwhile for a lariat trim but I do love to DIY and you two made it seem like so much fun lol

Well that all depends on how much you value seamless wireless CarPlay. That’s about the only major difference between 3 and 4 at the 8” screen level. Since you have a lariat, you would just need the APIM at around $300. You would need to remove two pins from your current APIM connector and then just plug the sync 4 APIM in.
