I’ve now done my fourth oil change on my Ford Maverick hybrid just hit 20,000 miles decided to switch from mobile one to Amsoil and it’s like night and day. My vehicle warms up without the loud engine noise. The transition between ice and gas engine seems much smoother. 100% recommend. Link below with data sheet.

I'm using motorcraft 0w20 with a motorcraft filter and cannot even feel the engine turn on when it starts up. Motorcraft, Mobile 1, Havoline, they are all excellent oils and using them will make the engine last longer than the truck itself IMO.

amsoil 100% did not make any such difference over motorcraft 0w20 synthetic. you paid a lot for some oil and wanted to believe it made a difference.

How do you know, did you test them both. Is this fact or faith. Faith being, believing in something without proof.

With ALL the threads about oil, I am surprised that I seem to be the only one who points out there is HYBRID SPECIFIC 0w20 engine oil. I use Mobil-1. Hybrid specific oil has more of the additives that resist the formation of sludge in the hybrid's ICE due to the fact the ICE runs less frequently and for many drivers, the ICE does not reach the temp needed to burn off the moisture that condenses in the crankcase. This moisture is what causes the sludge and in the worst case, the white milky jello-like substance seen on the oil cap.

I don't have to prove changing from one full synthetic oil to another makes no difference. There is a massive volume of data existing that says so. Only the people selling and consumers buying expensive oil would think otherwise.

The OP can do some testing with a calibrated microphone but given the range in cold start temps, keeping everything but the oil the same will be a challenge.

If he wants to *believe* there was a change and feels his money was well spent, that's fine. You and anyone else are free to do that as well.

Just to toss some gasoline on the fire. :)

I noticed on my first oil change last year, the factory filled oil (Motorcraft presumably) had quite a bit of the white milky stuff in the cap, and just below the cap in the filler neck. - There wasn't any below that point looking into the valve area, even using a borescope on my phone.

Fast forward to just about two weeks ago, same time of year, and this year, with perhaps cooler temps than last year by this time. No apparently white milky residue on the cap, nor in the filler neck. I've been using Walmart Super-Tech 0W20 & FL910S filter. FWIW, the Super-Tech meets all of Ford's requirements, along with Dexos2.

You don't specify which specs the two oils meet. Were they both meeting the Ford 961 spec, or was the Mobil-1 older spec?
