What is going on with all the stop ships all of the sudden? My dealer said he thinks there is a recall on something and they wont deliver until they are fixed.

I did some looking and only found this.
Research continues.

EDIT: for more info.
Pretty sure this is NOT the stop sale...CHECK THE DATES, it's for 1 day of Maverick manufacturing Aug 19.
See post #8 for more info.

Some one was doing a oil change tread and he found trans fluid dripping I bet that’s exactly what happened
[/QUOTE
Surely the dealers can take out the excess fluid. What happens with a stop ship? Are the trucks shipped back to Mexico? Does a Ford tech go to the truck and draw out some fluid? Do the trucks just sit where they are until Ford works things out with the dealers?

My guess is, they have to write up the procedure and assign it code to assist in claiming compensation just like they would on a recall, because effectively it is. Then distribute info to dealers.

No I'm pretty sure for vehicles in transit it at the dealer it will end up meaning they just can't sell it until fixed or addressed.

When I bought my 2019 ranger, it had been on the lot for several months, then between me starting the purchase (it was a dealer transfer) and taking delivery, there was a hold placed due to a production issue identified. They just had to fix it before they could sell it to me.

They are not going to hold millions and millions of dollar in vehicles on their way to dealers for a recall that just gets fixed at the dealership anyway. However, they may hold units at the factory that have not left yet and try to resolve them there before sending them along. :(

John Kelley in one of his utube's specifically mentioned being sure if changing the transaxle fluid to be certain that the vehicle was level and to fill fluid until it came out the level check hole and wait until there was slow drip coming out of check hole. Very important to NOT overfill but have it at full level.

Thanks for the link!

Judging by the affected vehicles list, it only applies to Mavericks that were built on 8/19. That means that mine's not included.

Still doesn't explain the stopship on my truck. I did reach out to my dealer yesterday and he is going to dig into it.
