Just did some online digging....

Yes, there is a stop sale on certain 2025 Ford Maverick models due to a recall affecting the passenger airbag disable indicator lamp. The lamp may become dislodged from the instrument panel bezel, potentially making it unclear if the passenger airbag is on or off. This could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Elaboration:
  • Specific Recall:
The recall, identified as Campaign 25C17, specifically addresses the passenger airbag disable indicator (PADI) lamp in 2025 Lariat models.
Seems, Just "LARIAT" models are affected... :(

Jerry
May I ask where you found this info that says it's only on the Lariat models? Seems strange if that's true but you never know. I literally just picked up my 2025 XLT from the dealership yesterday so I'm hoping my truck isn't part of this but I guess we'll see.

That sucks for the OP but makes sense if it's only Lariats that are affected since he shows it's a Lariat. Hopefully i don't get a recall since i have a 2025 XLT.

You might be able to fly under the radar lol. There were dealers still selling Mavericks during the backup camera stop sale
That would really “?!&,” after all this time and now this. I just ordered a Lariat last week hoping to have by my birthday in October 😆

Has been posted on Facebook and Reddit...

Ford Maverick Finally delivered and….stop sale MY2025 Maverick airba

Ford ""Letter" does NOT State.. "Lariat"...
But, google searches, DO mention.. "Lariat"

In 2025, Ford is recalling some 2025 Ford Lariat models due to a potential issue with the passenger airbag disable indicator lamp, which could dislodge from the instrument panel bezel. Additionally, select 2025 Ford F-150 models are being recalled for missing airbag warning labels. Ford is also recalling some 2024 and 2025 Ford Escape SUVs due to potential issues with passenger-side airbag deployment.

🤔

Interesting. May I ask where your seeing this info on Ford.com when you log in?

Also, only trucks made within a certain time frame.

You may not like the answer you get.
Think Pinto or side saddle gas tanks.
The adoption of airbags
.

The government forced airbags to be installed in cars. The Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 mandated that all passenger cars and light trucks sold in the United States after September 1, 1998, must have airbags. This law required airbags for both the driver and the front passenger.

Manufacturers don't like spending any extra money, unless it equals return on that expense, regardless if it saves lives or not. Therefore the government has to step in and tell them what they have to do.

🤔The "airbag passenger notification light" is a legal requirement for all light passenger vehicles in the United States. The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208 mandates that these vehicles be equipped with advanced airbag systems and that a telltale light, indicating when the passenger airbag is off, be present.

OP, your Maverick was shipped 4 months ago and you still don't it at your house. Ford should compensate you, such as a discount on your truck!
I waited two years and they still gouged me at Honolulu Ford!

After I log in to my account, I choose the "Recalls" item in the "Service & Support" menu. First it brings up a screen wanting me to type in my VIN but if I let it sit there for a few seconds it figures out it already knows it and brings up the following:

Yup, I have the recall on my Maverick as well. I'm not going to worry about it. An indicator light means nothing if the air bag is providing whatever safety it provides and is still functional when it's needed. If parts are available when I take it in for service, they can do the recall, otherwise, they can do it on the next service, 6 months later. It must be a critical recall before I'll make a special trip to the dealership to complete it.

The recall came up with my vin. I called and asked about it. They said there was no stop sale here in Alberta. Not sure if that’s true or if they just hadn’t received the memo yet.
