I bought a 2024 because the 2.0 in it was made for years in Cleveland. Completely new engine in a different plant what could go wrong? 😜
It's only a semi new engine - LOL, It's been produced since 2022 and has been in the Lincoln Corsair and the Ford Escape for a few years now. I looked at it side by side with the older 2.0l - the packaging is well done with considerably more room around it. Having port and DI fuel injection seems like a great, but more complex, solution. What I also noticed is a lot more metal in the cooling system. The current 2.0l is all plastic but the new 2.0l uses some metal coolant lines. As you state it's still early to get a sense of reliability. With Ford that usually comes a the 6 or 7 year mark.

Thoughts on this... I have a refundable deposit on two 2025 Tremor's from two different dealers. So I was just going to wait and buy the first one that got the fix. MRSP $42k OTD price is $43k. A few dealers have 2024 Lariat Tremor's MSRP $41k and OTD would be $38.5k. Would you just wait for 2025's or buy a 2024? Knowing that you get the infotainment system updates and the "new" 2.0l engine in the 25?
There are many advantages of getting the 25 Maverick besides the new engine...such as SYNC4 system (including the 360 degree camera system!) and the pro trailer backup system (game changer imho).
