I know prices will vary but about how much was it to paint match the front and rear bumper?

Loving that 2005 rally red element build! Seems there are a number of former element owners around here.

I feel like the Maverick shares a lot of traits with it. Fun, practical and unique.

If Honda ever decided to return to the element roots with a beefed up, more efficient engine, I think sales would be through the roof. Outdoor oriented vehicles are so hot right now.
My 2003 Element spontaneously combusted due to the motor defect, nearly killed us, loved it before that :)

Looks incredible so far.

I'm genuinely just curious here, but why paint this portion of the back bumper? Not meaning to single you out as all of the other color matched folks seem to have done this as well. Personally, I'd keep that area unpainted/carbon black, I must be the only one thinking this hard about it though, LOL.

Love the grill piece.
Mine is all black, so grill bar would be best place for some color.
Do you remove all pieces before prep and paint?? Thx

Hey guys some of you might have seen me post on the Facebook group but here’s some pics for those not on there.

I recently had the front bumper, rear bumper, side skirts and grill piece paint matched. Pair that with bullseye customs black housed head lights and you have perfection. Next will be 20’s, coilovers (when available) and tint.

Plans are to just have a super clean and modern daily driver as this is replacing my Honda Fit. Definitely not my first time going deep into a project, I’ll list a couple of my past cars below.

I think it that was left black the bumper would have been awkwardly shaped due to leaving the top portion black. We wanted to leave the 2 black accent square black to match the front for consistency and I think it came out really well.

Was this static dropped? That Forester sits sooo perfect.
No it was on air lift. Tucked 295’s perfectly.

Yeah I removed everything myself, wanted to save on labor

I want to call the grill bar a "bow tie" (elongated version)
Maybe "dog bone" 🦴 would be more appropriate.

I understand the unpainted sides, totally tracking there. I also appreciate that you did not paint the step portion as that certainly speaks functional daily driver and OEM+ vs total garage queen and or show vehicle.

I just don't get the lower middle. It looks more awkward to me painted than not. The silver one kind of pulls it off being all smooth, but with a hitch I think that area should stay unpainted to better house the license plate and conceal all of the hitch components.

I suppose in the odd chance you ever decide to try it the way I'm thinking, it's much easier to black it out, vs. having not originally painting it and wishing you did ;)

Can't wait to see how the rest of the build progresses!

Should have had them spray the tailgate handle as well! That's something that bugs me on my Lariat, not matching the doors :cautious:

I like both of those! Maybe you’re onto something here

To each their own and both ways look great to me. If I end up not liking the blue on certain areas or want to freshen up the look I can always vinyl wrap that section.
