Has anyone had theMaverick’s truck bed spray lined?

If so did the store remove the tie down brackets before spraying?

we had ours done and they did not.

So when we went out and got a truck cover which utilize those tie downs by removing the tie down bracket, adding the truck cover bracket on top and resecuring to the truck, is when we actually noticed it.

so most likely trying to remove those brackets now will ruin the look and integrity of that lining and most likely strip the bolt trying to remove it.

the store said they don’t remove those brackets anymore because they had problems getting them back on.

I call BS on that. If so they could have taped around it like you do before painting.

This would be a good question to ask the customer in advance if you want to remove and replace them yourself vs having a dissatisfied customer after purposely “hiding the weenie”.

Because they admitted to know that removing them is the proper way. They just took the cowards way out.

Yeah they at least should have taped them off!!! Very Sloppy!
I would take it back and make them remove and replace them! Who did the work? #LineX

I had one done where they took all the hardware off and sprayed. The next time I went to the same shop it was under new ownership and they just masked and sprayed everything. Their excuse "If we don't spray the hardware it will rust". The truth is, they were to lazy to do it correctly and it's faster to just spray everything.
My 08 still has no problems with "unsprayed" hardware.

Nope. Before buying our Maverick with the factory bed spray, we would always use Line-X. Our store would dismantle all bolts, tie downs, the Pucs in bed, and tape off all the rest of the truck from over spray.

They would also give us a lifetime waranty if it ever scratched thru the spray lining. Knew fellow offroad Jeepers who would spray the entire interior/exterior of their jeeps.

Most likely you will need to buy replacement screws and hinges, be very very careful removing the hinges. I would go to an auto body shop and ask them for suggestion how they would remove the hinges.

I work at Misfit Truck Accessories in
Murrieta, CA and we do the spray on bed liners.
We remove everything on the mavericks but some trucks you can’t. Like the the new Rangers all those tie downs are locktighted in for some reason and are notorious for breaking bolts off.
There is really no industry standard it depends on the shop as to what they think is the right way. Like I said we remove everything we can.

That’s what they said but if true they could have at least 1. disclosed that and 2. Tape around it like painters do.
Now we are screwed in the event if those tie downs need to be removed for whatever reason.

The installer should have taped those off.
What brand and model bed cover do you have?

I agree that should have been went over with the customer. You’re not really screwed they can still be removed it’s just some extra work now. Razor knife around the bottom of the tie down and then clean out the bolt head really good before you try to remove the bolt. Those are a T-30 socket.

Thank you for the reply, that helped
I was having a hard time visualizing what needed to be attached underneath the truck's tie down cleat. I watched the install video for your bed cover. I understand the problem better.

You may try contacting real truck and see if they have any options. Other than a different style bed cover. I don't see much help there.🤷‍♂️
It would suck to unbolt the tie downs and then not have the ability to reattach them.
I guess if bridges haven't been burned. You could always go back to the spray and liner place and see if they can lend a hand.
At the very least the company that installed the bedliner should see the inconvenience they caused by not removing the tie downs or at least properly taping them off.

The instructions say a 30 Torx.
in reality it's a 27 Torx Plus.
A 30 Torx with the sharp edges of the bit may work better with the spray material filling the bolt head.
Good luck

Rhino Liner in Newark DE. Sprayed mine. I could not be more satisfied! Every open hole plugged and every bracket removed prior to spray! If it wasn't supposed to get sprayed, it didn't !

These shops are getting extremely lazy. I bout a new Maverick in Wilson NC. They sent it down the street to Leonards to have the bed line sprayed. they did not fully mask the cab and it was covered with overspray. Two days of detailing with a claybar later the detailer was able to get it off. They did remove the hardware. before spraying and then forgot to tighten the tailgate tiedowns. Sloppy work for sure.
