2022s and 23s are going to be produced within a couple of weeks of each other. There absolutely will be 23s delivered before 22s. Some heads will be exploding on this forum when that happens!
Yep, constraints don't magically disappear with the new model year.

Blue book value is in part set by model year, so a 2022 in October will be priced as a 1-year old vehicle.

All features/options being equal/identical, a 2022 model year vehicle built in October 2022 would be worth less than a 2023 model year vehicle built in October 2022.
So, are we driving them or flipping them? I have no sympathy for flippers.

Even if not flipping, I will be trading mine in 4-5 years down the road. They will notice the 22 and 23 and not when I bought it. The only plus I suppose is a 22 with 10000 miles may be worth more than a 23 with 10,000 miles since it will be a less annual average.

Is there the possibilty for those that are still waiting for their '22 can get bumped to a '23 model without loosing their place in line? I don't mind reordering even if it means making some slight adjustments to my build as long as I don't get pushed to the back of the line.

Was hoping to have my new truck as a birthday gift to myself.. Oh well maybe next birthday! 😂
Ordered mine on my birthday... Jan 17th 2022. Has no build constraints. Salesman is baffled as to why I do not have a build date yet. A buddy of mine ordered his same day along side of me. He ordered every option and got his build date that Thursday after ordering, ordered on Monday he got his VIN that Thursday. Hopeful for my next birthday.

Was told today by ford customer service that in the next two to three weeks the customer support team will know which 2022 unscheduled orders will convert to 2023 and what may change in 2023 specs

I see your point, but for me, I think it's a non issue. My current plan is to drive it into the ground, as I have my current Ranger (with a Mazda B2300 nameplate.) So resale value won't be a problem...unless it's a lemon and I try to sell or trade it. Then, it's a whole other ball game.

Some of y'all are talking like our "rolled over" truck order would still be a 2022. Why would Ford produce MY 2022 Mavericks when the MY2023 builds start? Won't all the MY 2022 orders become MY 2023 orders? We won't lose the model year for depreciation.

From what I remember hearing the FordVideoGuy, Tim Barth, talk about on one of his streams -
  • We should only have to concern ourselves with changes to the packages/features.
  • We keep our order in queue and only lose that if we change trim or engine.
  • We keep our price protection for the packages we have on our orders.
  • If there is more stuff in the package we get that.
  • If there is less stuff we don't get that.
  • If the item was removed from the package and is an option we get that.
  • If we want another package added we pay for that (probably MY2023 prices).
I am sure constraints to packages still apply.

You could test that theory on Kelly Blue Book. I’m guessing the difference would be minimal. Likely less than $1000 (<5%).

Finally got my build schedule date. Patients finally paid off. I did not get an email from the normal Ford system to notify me. I had been emailing someone in the Customer Service Dept. who just informed me today.
Better news is my '22 Escape hybrid (same plant) also got scheduled w/o Aug. 8
Ordered 09/07 Velocity Blue Hybrid, XLT Lux Pack, Full size spare, (I removed the Tonneau cover). Scheduled for w/o Aug 22
So hang in there if you were an Aug - Sept hybrid order........

Escape’s are made in Louisville, Bronco Sports and Mavericks share the line in Hermosillo. Minor clarification.

Thanks for the clarification. My salesmen told me and I believed it because the Maverick is built off the Escape platform
