Sold my XLT to Carvana

It’s all about location, mileage, color, and condition.

Also about inventory levels.

If there is too much unsold inventory then prices will drop and when inventory is low prices will rise.

I have keep the offers for my Maverick from Carvana and Vroom on the 1st and 15th of each month going back to early 2022.

These were the offers for 2023 showing Supply and Demand in action:

For 2023 the lowest prices were in early 2023 and 1/15 was the absolute lowest with Carvana at $28,388 and Vroom at an unbelievable low price of $25,968.

Just three months later on 4/15 Vroom's offer was $35,798 or almost $10k ($9,830) over their offer of $25,968 on 1/15.

Curious based on what state you live in, at what point are you meeting dealer criteria and the implications of that? A long time ago in Ohio I recall you didnt have to sell that many in a year to be a legal dealer. I'm assuming it doesnt matter who/how you sell to today.

Yep. 5 vehicles is the limit most places. Virginia is one of them. Indiana is 12! Montana (my state) is 4.

Like I said before, I'll believe it when I see it. Anyone can say anything online. Trust me, I work for NASA and the CIA...

And yet my fully loaded 2023 Lariat hybrid is going for $4000 LESS than MSRP on Carvana

It seems the same for Luxury Package, which is going for less than yours without it. Interesting.

Mine is long term capital gain as I purchased my MY22 on 12/13/2021 and sold on 8/28/2023. So more that 12 months.

Profit is $5,335.79 but I will not pay any State Tax (TX) or Federal Tax unless we have $10,000 income over our Social Security income based on last year's 1040.

Sold to Carvana on 8/28/2023 for $31,404

Even if we do end up having to pay some we would be in the 10% bracket so a minimal amount.

Same here but I don't get as much social security so I have a bigger no tax window.

It seems the same for Luxury Package, which is going for less than yours without it. Interesting.

The majority do not want the more things to go wrong luxury package with some compromising and buying one with lux for a lower price than one without (XL or XLT base rocks and brings a "less to go wrong" premium!)!

Offer for my Tremor with 2,100 miles is $33,800 - which is about $2k more than I paid for my Tremor (no tax since I traded in and was paid money).

It is nice to see, not nice enough to see and get rid of my Tremor.

I have a Tremor and a Hybrid... Even though its harder for this old man to get in, i'll keep the Tremor... But that milage on the Hybrid rocks too...lol
