Sold my MY22 Maverick XLT Hybrid that has these factory options added:
Co-Pilot360 + Rear Sliding Window + 110V/400W Outlet in Cab
Also added aftermarket: Hard Drop-In Bedliner + Rear Splash Guards + Front Windows Tinted

I purchased it on 12/13/2021 for the out-the-door price of $26,068.21. That includes all taxes and fees. MSRP was $24,175.85 which includes delivery charge

Sold to Carvana on 8/28/2023 for $31,404
That price is $5,335.79 over my out-the-door price of $26,068.21
and $7,228.15 over MSRP price of $24,175.85 which includes delivery charge

Not bad for a used vehicle that I have had for 1 3/4 years and 9,269 miles.

My MY23 Maverick XLT Hybrid is scheduled to be built today 9/7/2023 and has these factory options added: Co-Pilot360 + Trailer Tow Hitch + 110V/400W Outlet in Cab

Total out-the-door price is $28,381.46 which includes all taxes and fees.
MSRP is $26,350 which includes delivery charge

So in effect I get my brand new MY23 Maverick XLT Hybrid for FREE and an additional cash profit of $3,022.54

Also a plus is Zero Wear and Tear and a New 3 year warranty and No Recalls or TSBs that need to be done.

I had Carvana, Vroom, CarMax, KBB and the AutoNation Dealership where my MY23 Maverick is being delivered later this month make offers on buying/trading-in my MY22 Maverick XLT Hybrid.

These were the offers I received from worst to best:

The absolute worst: KBB offer of $27,420
2nd worst: CarMax: $28,500
Middle: AutoNation: $27,250 + $1,646.88 tax savings = $28,896.88
2nd Best: Vroom: $29,896
Best: Carvana: $31,404

Carvana was $1,508 higher than the next best offer (Vroom) and $3,984 higher than the worst (KBB)

The AutoNation Dealership offer of "$27,250 + $1,646.88 sales tax savings = $28,896.88" was overall $2,507.12 worst than the Carvana offer even considering the sales tax savings.

Location is the only thing that matters. It's in perfect condition with 8k miles and loaded with every option and about $3k aftermarket.

$3k in aftermarket is $0 for resale, though - unless you find a private buyer who wants exactly what you modified, then figure 50%, if you're lucky.

All of the online places have a check for "modifications" - I haven't tested it, but my guess is that saying "yes" will lower your offer.

Congratulations. I hope to be able to get close what I paid when I visit Carmax on Saturday. Vroom price was pretty good, beat Carvana by $3k. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Even with no it still does. I added the bedliner, ceramic tint, ceramic coating and PPF.

They don't add or subtract from the offer for potential modifications until after the actual inspection. That said, they won't add to the value lol.

Another reason why I don't overpay for mods and if I do, I plan on returning to stock before I sell as much as possible. Tint, paint correction/detailing, stickers, little plastic add-ons etc etc is only going to subtract from your bank account. I'd never trust a private seller trying to upsell "ceramic" anything. I can tell you I've ceramic coated my trucks as well as ceramic tint, but the fact is - it's a constant carnauba wax and the cheapest tint I could find. You'd never even know it. I could demonstrate it to you how "ceramic" both of them are lol.

Now the PPF might be able to get some return on it, but again, likely not from a company. A private sale you might expect to see about 1/4th the original cost of the PPF added on, but even then, really not a big deal and the negotiations for "fair market value" (to anyone who has ever dealt with private sale hagglers) would likely put you in a position where you are not going to make much from it if anything at all anyways. The only real thing that matters is market value and it's 100% location based. My trucks sold in the blink of an eye where I live, where as I probably would have sat on them for months in other spots I have previously lived. It's all really in the demographics of your location too. Lots of elderly retired folks around me who wanted the Escape Hybrid I had and the first person to look at it bought it no haggle at all. If I was trying to sell it in SoCal, it might not have done so well since it was AWD and lots of people view it as unnecessary for a pavement princess DD in those areas. They might have even faulted me for not getting the PHEV version...

Just food for though I'm sure you already know.

These reports come in sporadically of people still making profits but tbf... not a single one I have seen has ever shown proof. I think the post a couple posts above might be about as close as I've ever seen. Still not proof, but I don't doubt it happened. Care to prove it OP? I'm not saying it can't happen btw... I'm just saying that anyone can be a millionaire online.

Finalized sales order or it didn't happen ;)

My plan was to keep my XL EB forever, but now I’m actually considering trading mine, since even with 23,500 miles I’m looking at getting out more than what I put into it. I’m not sure about it though, I love the Mav :)
