I've never had something like this in a car so I have no baseline to compare against. Initially, I didn't find too much use in it until I ALSO found the adaptive cruise setting to automatically set the cruise to x mph compared to the speed limit. This was a laziness game changer, but also, given I drive on country highways, the fact that it triggers in the random 500 foot long cities that have a 25 mph zone have been clutch.
It was only after I started using this often than I noticed it seems like it does 2 things: 1. It sometimes reads signs incorrectly (VERY rarely) and 2. It seems like it reads phantom signs that don't even exist.
Regarding #2, there's a very specific place I've found that's a 55 and it randomly picks up a phantom 20 mph zone. It's not a school zone, which I've noticed it loves to obey the "if kids are around" law. What would cause this? Is it a misread of something and the AI is just screwed up? Is it somehow pulling it from map data either in the connected maps or android auto? I'm stumped.
So what's everyone else's experience with this been? I'd love to know more and how to avoid some of these quirks, but maybe I just need to be less lazy.
EDIT: I don't mean "AI" in the most recent interpretation of the word. Just meaning recognition and interpretation.
